This surfaced in the gravel driveway in my farmyard.

I'm wondering if it is for use with rope, or possibly power line guy wires? Or?

End for rope of a hay sling. This is for the end of rope that gets hooked in the trip end. Place the end of the rope over the stubby knobs & squeeze the sides together in vise. If no vise available place on solid surface such as anvil, tractor drawbar or flat rock & beat with a BFH.
