I was washing my to30 with a pressure washer, next day I found a part on the ground,it is part of the tractor,it is about the size of a silver dollar,it is metal,it is painted grey on one side, the other side is bare metal,it almost looks like a electrical knockout, not sure if thats the right name, there was a lot of grease on it.thanks for any help.

i have a 1957 TO-35 and the only thing that i can think of that looks like your part description.

The timing hole on my tractor has a round plug that goes in that hole, you have to pry it out to check the timing,
the hole in located on my tractor right in front of your clutch petal on the engine side of the clutch housing.

other than that i do not know what it could be.

could it be something that was on the ground before you started washing the tractor?????

Does it look like this?

That plug is ther cover on the timing hole. Other than that youmight find one on the dash if someone plugged a hole.

thanks, will have to look tomorrow,it doesn't look like the picture,it is flat no prongs off of it,just like a silver dollar,I'll check to see if its for the timing tomorrow.thanks for the replies.

Could it be a core plug?

Yup , it's the plug that goes in the hole under the starter , so you can see the flywheel to check the timing. Must have pressure washed that sucker right off.

it isn't the timing hole cover because that is still there, its about the size of the guages in the dash,as thick as a silver dollar about the same diameter no prongs coming off it like in the picture, has gray paint on one side bare metal on the other, had a lot of grease on it.thanks for any help.

Just a long shot, but check for a "clean spot" on your tractor. We had a large washer like that, finally found it had been stuck on the tractor with dirt/grime and painted over. Never was even a part of the tractor.

Look at the adjustable lift arm in the back with the crank. The top of the little gearbox with the crank has a round plug on top. Check if that is missing.
