What might be the model # of this loader? Tractor is ~1969 3400. Has 1.5" rods on big hydro cylinders. Looking to replace seals on those big cylinders...looking for P/N for seal kit. Thanks!

I can't help with the question on the part number for the seal kit, but that is not a 1969 tractor. They changed the sheet metal in early 1968 and after 4/1/68 they had smooth sided hoods without those louvers. As for replacing the seals, you might try removing the cylinders from the tractor and taking them to a local hydraulics shop. They can usually source the parts just from the size without having to lookup brand specific part numbers and the parts are usually less expensive that way.

I believe that's a 730 loader. You can get kit part numbers at Messicks or CIH. Before ordering compare kit contents to your current seals.

Yep, I've looked into taking to Central Hydraulics in Hutchinson, MN They know what they are doing. Thanks all!

. but any good hydraulic shop will rebuild those cylinders... I have seen industrial tractors with the early sheet metal on them even though they were made after mid 1968. Dont know it this was a "thing" or not... Looks to be a 730 loader..your loader could have the hooks on the back side to add on a back hoe... in which case it might be a later loader????? I believe I can see the rear counter weight bucket hooked.... on those hoe mounts.

According to all references I have seen, they did continue to make "early style" tractors after 4/1/1968, mostly to fulfill existing fleet purchases, but the last known examples were made around August or September of 1968 as far as I have seen, but you can never say never when it comes to Ford tractors, as they would do almost anything that a large fleet customer asked for. Those later "early style" tractors still had the numeral at the beginning of the model number instead of a letter, plus the early style hood louvers and wrap around grill, and the 4000 gassers still even had the 192 ci engine. If the model number started with a numeral they were considered an "early style" tractor no matter when they were made.

My brother pulled the 730 loader off his 3400 and it’s not going back on, we’re going to install one of the Farmhand 22 quick attach loaders I have so the loader can easily be removed when not needed
