What size pole barn...

When I built my garage and pole barn I thought that they would be big enough but now I wish I would have doubled the size.

The size I think would work and than doulbe it.I have hear that When building a store church you should go doulbe what you think you need,.

After my divorce and move left me pennyless and p=--yless I bought an old barn, tore it down and moved to my new location. It started out as a pole barn and now is enclosed with cement floor. I need to put leantoos around to shelter all the junk!!

12x20 sounds a bit on the small side. At least double the smallest dimension. My garage is 24x36 and it's just barely deep enough, an extra 4' of room would be (almost) perfect.

I was told way back when, in buying a boat, camper, trailer or building a shed-go bigger than you think you will need. A 12 x 20 sounds big now, but by the time you get all the other "stuff" you will get its going to get real small real quick.

Holy Smokes... You guys are killing me... It is just going to be 'covered' parking for my little MF35 and it's bush hog...

Build it as wide as you can afford. You can always add to the length later. For instance, 36 wide x 24, then add another 24 or 36 to the length later.

Yep, build it twice as big as you think. At least setit up so it can be added onto. I did building inspections for 20+ years, and never saw one built that was big enough. Includijg outbuildings, garages, Supercenters, schools...

And you have nothing else that you would ever want to put inside under cover? When sizing a shed, put everthing that you want to put in it togeather in one spot. Now take that size and double it. Next build in a place that can be added on 3 times. And your still out of room in 2 years. ;-)

Fella once told me that you could roof over your entire property and not have enough. Push your limits as far as you can. Never heard a fella say, "Dang, my stuff is too dry. Wish I had built this smaller..." My 10x12 is now 16x16.
