wheel packer/roller

Except that concrete or steel roller will not do near the job as a flexible wheel roller. If you knew anything about building or maintaining tracks you wouldn t be passing out bad advice like that.

hey track builder, soft rubber tires will not pack the track as good as a solid roller ,i under stand that a solid roller will not go down in a hole to pack it but when i am pulling i will stay out of the low spots

We are pulling antique's, not super farms! I think either a concrete roller or rubber tired packer should work just fine. Sometimes we only use a skid steer! There are holes, but we get by.

You're right, a flexible wheel roller will do a better job on an uneven track full of clumps and holes. We like to keep ours nice and flat however.

I wonder why they use large steel rollers on road construction during final prep before laying blacktop down? Come to think of it they use large steel rollers after they lay the blacktop down too. Hmmmm....

Know, please tell me how you keep track of the low spots after the drag has filled them in with soft dirt. Do you plot them and enter them on your GPS?

That just proves that you are too stupid to know the difference between asphalt and dirt. And you will always wonder why because you have no clue about pulling tracks.

Track Builder, instead of insulting people, maybe you could try helping them. I think that's the true purpose of this forum. Tell us the difference between asphalt and dirt. Not everyone knows everthing. He may be too stupid to know the difference, but you didn't bother telling him either.

What track do you maintain, I'm sure people would like to see the track that can be prepared if done properly, which I'm sure you know how to do.

Let's see some helpful advice, not some wisecracking smart a$$ hiding behind his computer.

Always baffled me why someone would take the time to log to the site just to be a pain in the a$$.

We don't pull on dirt we pull on clay. We like it nice and flat too just like the road construction guys do before they lay down asphalt. I'm sure your flexible wheel roller does a wonderful job packing the clumps and tire holes in your track.

Hurry, someone call Whine-One-One!

It looks like Track Builder needs a ride in the Whambulance!

Check out your local road district, ours will loan the packer, I went to One pull this yr, that used a huge vibrating steel roller, It shook everything. They just used it between classes. It worked real well.
