wheel weights

(quoted from post at 16:16:43 01/25/08) The Wheel weights should be interchangable from the model 50 thru at least the 4440, and maybe even newer. Mike

I've been curious about this, too. The weights look the same through all those models and years (although I've never scrutinized them too closely) but are they all exactly the same? Did they change at all, even in minor detail, besides part numbers (I presume)?

I'm far from an expert on the slight variations of wheel weights, but I know the basic bolt pattern didn't change. Maybe someone that has looked into the differences will chime in. Mike

The short answer is yes. I have personally put both types of weights on both series tractors. The two-cylinder weights are basically the same design used clear thru the 55 and 60 series (4455, 4760, etc). The only catch it that changing wheel spacing will be more difficult, as the "newer" weights have a bigger notch cast in them, allowing more room to get at the pinion gear bolt. Josh
