wheeled platform to put tractor on

I am looking for a 4 wheeled rollabout platform or dolly that I can put a small to medium tractor on for painting without the wheels on the tractor. I have to paint outside, but want to be able to roll the tractor back inside without the wheels on it afterwards so that I can assemble it. Any ideas if somebody makes something like this or am I going to have to have it built. I would like adjustable stands on it to fit under tractor frame and axles. 785-748-0061

Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to get a set of raged wheels and tires. Wheels could even be rusty and tires have big boots. Isn't all you are wanting to do is roll it around and not worry about getting paint on your wheels and tires.

I have a '37 JD B on a T-shaped dolly that I made out of some old cultivator frame- the 5x7 inch rectangular tubing used on rear-mount cultivators. Since it is on a concrete floor, the wheels are steel, maybe 6 inch dia. You could do the same with rubber tires, fixed on each end of the T, with a swivel on the long end. The supports on the T are fixed in height, to catch the rear axle, the one on the front is hinged, so I can slide it in from the rear with the front support laying flat to get past the differential, then raises up to catch the belly of the tractor frame.

What you say is true, but without wheels, it is easier to paint- more access to the tractor. Also takes up less shop space. I made a stationary frame for my AC WF-(cuz the other one was busy!)- also fits RC, WC, WD, WD45 models. Made out of scrap angle and square tube- sits under a 2 ton hoist when I need it, and I can slide it around with the skidloader if it is in the way.

Don't know if anybody that makes such a thing. Lawd! I'm still breathless for having discovered that there are folks that actually make stands for splittin' tractors, never mind paintin' 'em!

But seriously . . . I don't know of anything out there. As far as using something else or fabbing something up, it would depend on what kind of surface you're thinking of rolling it on and any grade involved.

Wide or narrow front, you could start with wheel dollies and tie them together with some sort of frame. A T like an engine stand for a narrow front, using three dollies. Or a braced X using four for a WFE.

Me, I'd tarp over the toolchests and the walls and paint her inside.

1). roll tractor outside on its own wheels.
2). jack tractor up on blocks and remove wheels.
3). paint tractor.
4). put wheels back on and roll tractor back in shop.
Faster, cheaper and easier than any other method.

Why couldn't you set it up like Aaron's tractor only on a small flat-bed trailer? That would give you the portability you need.
