Where are they?

Brother in law and I were just talking today about where did all the 7720 JD combines go? Back in there day in the early 80s here in Mn. it seems every other farm had a 7720. Now it is rare to see one in the field and even more rare to see one in a dealer lot. So where did they go?

probably mexico here at auctions there are a lot of mexican farm equipment buyers and they love 7720s and 7700s but dont seem to care about 8820s

I agree with the Mexico idea,I think it is listed as Combine train on U-TUBE shows a couple of trains with must be a hundred or better JD/CIH combines newwer than "7700" but could this have happened before???? just a thought. also last summer a couple real nice guys from Mexico stopped ny my place and tried real hard to get me to sell my 770,830,970,1070,1175 tractors,to me they liked the older stuff so,,,,CNT

I suspect most went to Mexico, but there are still a few getting worked on, and sometimes even running here in SENE.

Seems like all the walker machines are disappearing fast here.

Here in central ks a neighbor still runs 3 of them, but I agree with the mexico idea after hearing the buyers at some auctions.

I still have one holding on strong. It seems that around "here" you see some smaller older combines running, then it jumps to the newer machines but the big older machines (I still think a 7720 is pretty big) are just gone.

I just bought a neighbor"s JD 7720 Titan II last week. It only has 672 hours on it,it is a 1988 model. He bought it new and I have serviced it since then. I am looking at a Hillco kit for it. My brother has a JD9510 side hill but I like the older machines. I am hoping to have a side hill kit on it by fall. We went to 6 x 30 several years ago and in these newer corn hybrids it over loads the old JD 6620s. My brother is picking up some more ground so I decided to get my own machine again.
