Which should I buy?

I had a 790 4x4 w/ front end loader. I sold it last year and I am wanting to purchase another JD. Which tractor would I get more push and power out of? A 4x4 790 or a 2WD 5103. I am needing to do a lot of moving dirty and downed trees? Thanks

That 790 is much lighter of a tractor than the 5103. With full ballast on the 5103, it would do better than the 790 any day of the week.

You know they offer the 5103 in mfwd now.Best of both, weight, 4 wd and price.

Look at a 4520 with power reverser & r4 tires you will like it alot better than those other tractors

Not going to bore you again with my pursuit of a new tractor this year and resultant purchase.

What I will say is that this tractor is my FIRST 4wd vehicle in my 66 years of life. I continously test it in and out of 4wd and hands down it is worth every penny you pay. Plus I am running a 57 pto rated tractor doing the jobs my 4010 (80 hp 2wd) tractor (with loader) used to do (I traded it in)and it does them much faster, better, better control, and at about half the fuel.....and with AC and heated cab, vs open station, brother, it just doesn"t get any sweeter than that.
