Who is using regularly a Case 870?

Just bought a case 870 to use everyday. I have heard they are a good tractor. The one I bought was sitting in the corner of a barn for 15 years and we pulled it about 250 feet and it ran fine with no problems.

First year they came out the local dealer did a plowing demonstration on some wheat stubble on our farm. He brought out a 870 and a 1070. I came home from school on the bus only to find them about ready to end the demo. They did let me make one round with the 870 and 4 bottom plow. Pa did not buy one but instead bought a John Deere.

When Case came out with the Case-O-Matic we went to a plowing demonstration. Dad thought it a waste of time and I thought they were pulling one plow too many.

Howdy,

Just talked to a fella here in Southern Ohio that owns an 870 yesterday. He has a demonstrator model and was needing an ignition switch for it so he could put out round bales. I thought that was kind of sad, using a demonstrator for sloppy work like that. Oh well, to each his own. God bless.

I have an 870 and I use it mainly for tillage and planting. My cousin has 2 that he uses for planting and haying. They have been good reliable tractors. Where are you located. I would sell mine. It has a cab dual remotes and powershift. I am in Michigan.

I like my Case 870, but I wish it had a cab. I use it for haying and tillage, and I'm thinking about putting a loader on it.

Hi Jerry,

I'm interested in your Case 870. You can contact me on my personal e-mail: [email protected]

Please give me all details (technical state, price etc.) and your personal e-mail.

State Michigan is no problem. A friend of us is in Ohio and can pick it up if we come to an agreement.

We are looking for a diesel. Preferably manual shift without cabine. But when not possible a powershift is also oaky. A cabine can always be removed so that is never a problem.

(quoted from post at 13:18:21 02/03/08) Who is using a Case 870?
We have 2 of them. One was the first one that our dealer sold in 1970. Bought it with a 4 bottom auto reset plow.

Few years ago we bought this one at a sale and mounted sprayer on it.

They both get used regularly. Great tractors.
We were using it this day till this happened!
