A couple folks asked me to see if I could post this info that was in this months Farm Journal for what tractors come from where as far as new production.

Agco: ST series made by Iseki in Japan. The rest made in France.

Challenger: MT 200, Iseki in Japan. MT 300B in Italy by AgriItalia. 500B-600B France, 700B-900B Jackson MN.

Fendt: Germany
Valtra: Finnland
Massey: 1500 series by Iseki in Japan, 500 series Brazil, 2600 series, by TAFE in India, 3400 series in Italy by Same Deutz Fahr, 5400-8400 series in France.

CaseIH: Farmall compacts in Gerogia, Farmall in Turkey by Turk Tractor, Farmall C and U in Italy, Maxxum and Puma in Basildon England, Magnum in Racine WI, and Steiger in Fargo ND.

New Holland: compacts in GA, TT-A in GA, TDD, T4000, T5000 in Italy, TB series in Mexico, T6000 series in Basildon England, TV series in Fargo ND, T7000 in Basildon, T8000 in Racine WI, and T9000 series in Fargo ND.

McCormick and Landini all but CT series in Italy. CT series in Korea

Deere: 4020 series in GA, 5003 series India, 5025 series in GA, 6003 series in Mexico, 6030 series in Germany, 7030 series (small frame) Germany and Waterloo Iowa, large frame Waterloo Iowa, 8030-9030T series Waterloo Iowa.

Don't forget the new Chinese John Deere's that are on the way to the USA that I read about recently. Or maybe just a manufacturing facility, I am not sure, it just struck me as funny to have a China Deere. that is the last US company that I thought would have gone Chinese.

I have read that the Deere facility in GA is not really a manufacturing facility, but a test / warehouse. Essentially, the tractors come in in containers, and the guys in Ga put the wheels on, and add fluids, inspect for damage?

They've been squirting green paint on oriental stuff years and making a huge profit margin - did you expect them to quit?

I have a late 80's Deere 714 mulch tiller my dad bought new. The front disc and chisel standards are stamped made in Korea. The lift cylinders were leaking so I bought kits and pulled them down. On the end caps inside was cast made in china! Keep in mind this was made in the late 80's 20 years ago.

Yeah, I kne a lot of their little compacts were Yanmar, and I know they sell a lot of Chinese parts, but call me nuts, but I never thought they would go into a chinese market. I still shudder at the "made in China" sign on things. I guess it goes with the "made in Japan" things in the 70's, hated that too. but things change, sometimes for the good and sometimes for the not so good. I guess what bugs me is the American people loosing jobs to Chinese manufacturing.

Thank you, KyHayman. Only thing I will add is from personal experience/knowledge. The NH and CaseIH compacts that are made in Georgia, are more accuratedly "asssembled in GA". The engine for example is Japan. Don't know about other makes, but imagine components come from all over. Tom

That line up will change every year too. They jump around to different companies and countries all the time. It should be interesting trying to chase parts for them in 20 or 30 years.

I have heard that you can get some of the best things and definitely the cheapest from China. You just can't use both those words in the same sentence.
