I'm Bob, as my title implies, and I am a mechanic in the Coast Guard, in Memphis, Tn. I own a Ford 8N, and an Allis B. My wife, Melinda, and I raise goats, chickens, a small garden and two youngins on our small homestead in Hardeman County, TN. I love working on old machines. My wife still homeschools my daughter, though my son is too old. We are active in church and my daughter does 4H some. She won everything goat last year in our county. She kept very through records. Not much to say, I quess.

I am a factory rat outta Detroit. I have a Farmall H, and a 300U. Both of which I have repaired and or restored. I have been looking for aftermarket items for my H, just to be different. I would like to take it to some shows after I retire in a couple of years. I have 10 acres, a great wife, and too little time. I have been on here, under various names, since the mid 90's. I mostly lurk. I have picked up a lot from the guys on here, and people have been very generous with thier time, emailing me and in general just being nice. Great site and a great bunch of guys!!

Dave Null. Come from SE Ohio family is there but I left about 25 years ago. Spent about 3 years each at Ft Lewis, Wa and FLW, Mo then came to Germany where I stayed. Work for the US Army, Wife and I raise Australian Sheperds, Foundation Quarter Horses, and Norwegian Forest Cats to use up any pesky free time we may run across. If that don't do it, there's usually something to do on the tractor, truck, fence, or honeydo list.

An old retired telephone man and the closest thing I do to farming is my garden and making maple syrup the open pan method. Grew up in NE Kansas the son of a share crop farmer who used horses. Left the farm to join the Navy and learn telephones. I have four old MMs. I now call Petoskey Michigan home. I still live on the red clay hill that i was born on, in south Mississippi about 20 miles north of Laurel and 85 miles south of Jackson.
I have a 1953 model 60 John Deere, which is a working tractor. I was raised on the two cylinders farming cotton and corn and in later years dad got into dairy farming.
My wife now raises pure bred Arabian horses and i do my farming in a greenhouse. I have a factory job to support everything. The wife is to graduate nursing school in August and says shes gonna take over the work and bill paying so i can come home to work her horses and the nursery.

I'm a 53 year old living in N.E. Iowa. Started working at the J.D. tractor factory in Waterloo, right after graduating from high school. Have been retired from there for 8 years, so can now spend all of my time with a corn/soybean crop operation. I farm with green and yellow but enjoy reading, looking, and hearing about all of them. Love my old MOPARS and going to The Lake of the Ozarks.

I work for Mich. Dept. of Trans. (M.D.O.T.) as a Construction tech. (Inspector). I make sure all aspects of DOT supervised construction meets spesification. I have been on this site since 2003 or so, just now into posting. I have only 1 tractor right now, a 1984 Ford 3910 with 822 origional hrs. I have been collecting Ford implements for the last 3 years or so, so far to date I have a 601 1 row corn picker, a 309 2 row planter, 101 3 bot plow 14", 716 8' blade, 202 6.5' disc, 707 boom pole, 406 2 row cultivator, and a 705 front blade 6'.

Howdy! I'm a tire guy out of Virginia, about 50 miles south of that hell hole known as DC. Appaloosas, Corgis and peacocks are the livestock, mud seems to be the feild crop, and the wife says I have too much wood ( 6 kids already)for the winter- and not enough hay!

I have a tremendous amount of gas powered junk that never seems to be turn key this time of year, and an endless supply of duaghter's boyfriends that seem to tear it up regualarly but couldn't spin a screw if their life depended on it.

I just started on this forum. I recently bought a TO 30 for wildlife work. I'm looking forward to retirement in a couple of years (62)so I can have more time to follow mu avocation. I live 25 miles SW of Grand Rapids, Michigan on an 80-acre farm the belonged to my mother-in-law. It hasn't been farmed in close to 35 years so needs lots of soil additives. It's amazing to watch the native plants take over. It was probably an oak savannah at one time, now one of the rarest habitats. I'm hoping to restore some with controlled burns, etc. My real job is a drywall contractor commercial estimator. Really enjoy the site and am learning a lot.

I'm a truck driver from around Canton, Oh. I have 2 allis b models, one of which my great grandfather bought new in 1946.Dad has a ca and a wd45 that stays at my place most of the time. We don't farm anymore just play around with the tractors. I usually check in here everyday but I'm a student not a teacher in this crowd. I also have a 69 ford f250 and a 69 ford torino to play with. My wife is a nurse and thinks I'm nuts to want to play in the garage rather than some online video game. Thanks for all the help you guys never know your giving. Mike

How is everyone, I have been visiting this site for a while and so it makes since to tell you about me. I help my dad and grandpa farm 150 acres in southwest OH a very large garden compared to some of the farms around us, big enough to keep me busy though. Since this is a tractor site I will tell you which tractors I have. All internationals of course, dont hate other models just prefer RED. We have a 966 which isnt a bad tractor just dont have the balls it needs and it likes its drinks. We also have a 560 which is the only tractor bought new by our family, its getting restored soon, I hope.
Unfortunatly we have a 574 which is the only time I can recall IH screwed up, I hate the thing. We just got a Farmall B from a family friend which I would like to restore for my nephew, just turned 5 months old. I saved the best for last my 806 which you can read bout in the stories section, title ole smokey 806, 130 horses of therapy. Thanks for reading.

Been enjoying this site for 7-8 years. Post some but take it by spurts and lurk more than post. I enjoy and appreciate the knowledge and experience found here. I'm in my first year of retirement (school principal) and we (son & I) run a tobacco farm in Kentucky. Been here all my 59 years except helping Uncle Sam out (Vietnam) in 71-72. Like Ford tractors as my handle suggest but also work/play with an AC & MF.

Grew up on farm in Mo. Bootheel, spent 34 years in Air Force (thought about making it a career), retired in '04 in Il outside St Louis, now work as consultant for AF until wife can retire in 3yrs, plan to packup and move to the West Plains area of Mo Ozarks. Like orange: Allis B, Allis C (process of putting back together), WD, D17, 720, D19, this weekend picked up two all crop 66 combines, and slew of snap coupler equipment. Being away from farm equipment for 35 years, I forgot alot about it. So, I ask a lot of dumb questions on here. Normally get good responses with guys helping me learn (or remember). Once in a while I get a smart **s and I just ignore thiem: figure they must be dumber than I am or they'd have something intellegent to say.

I sincerely appretiate all the great advise and help finding parts, etc.

I'm a retired Social Security Claims Representative originally from NW Kansas by way of Denver now living under "the Big Sky." My blood runs "Flambeau" red. I'm also the D series technical consultant for the Case Collectors association. I have three of the original tractors from the farm in Kansas, a 29 L, a 30 C and a 49 DC, and have been promised the 51 LA that a neighbor bought at dad's sale in 1986. I also have a 37 CC, a 38 RC and several more D and DC units.
If I'm not playing with my tractors, I can be found playing my tuba in the community bands of the area.

What is the D series? just curious because my tractor is a D series. The German made farmalls (McCormick). Just wondering if it was the same thing.

I live in SC Iowa, design and build machinery for use in the factory I work for. Gonna retire in a year and half and work on a couple rental houses and play with my tractors. My first love besides the missus is a 1950 Ferguson TO-20. Also have a 730 Case, Allis WD & WD45, another TO-20, and a 631 Ford that I'm gathering up parts for. This is a great sight and a great wealth of information.

Hello.. My friends call me Larry. I am retired Law Enforcement Officer. Live down in Missouri close to part of the Lake of Ozarks. In fact like 2 miles from water. Good thing cause I like to fish a lot in summer. Not into that ice fishing. lol
I did own a 610 Long diesel tractor. Sold it and got a John Deere A in trade on Long. Sold it cause I did not like that clutch lever. Hit my chicken shed first time I ever tried it out. lol
Got a late 58 B-311 tractor now. 6 ft brush hog and hay forks with rear blade for it. But trying to restore as much as possible my tractor now.

Rick in MN...(who'd have thought?). About 40 miles north and west of the twin Cities. Been on this site for almost 10 years, but do more reading than posting. I have sold parts and done hauling for quite a few people here. Full time driver for a millwork company although laid off now with the housing crunch. Buy and sell a few tractors (pronounced jockey), do some hauling and take in some repairs once in awhile as well. had a love for tractors all my life and always have 15 to 20 around. I like them all but am kind of partial to red with my main concentration being Super H through 656. Also a collector of other odd stuff, gas engines, Kawasaki triple motorcycles, odd mini bikes...ect.

I have been truely shiftless starting in Nov while I was taking the 49 A on it shake down run for the winter to get all the fluids mixed and while going up a incline all forward direction stopped and started moving back wards on its own accord. Coasted backwards to a nice spot with the engine running, but no trans or PTO working. Stationary engine on wheels. Been waiting for a really cold winter and 43 inches of snow in my drive to asked what happened. No snap, crackle, or pop of any kind trans just stopped working. So the arm chair mechanic's jump on this one.

As for me I was raised on a farm in SE Iowa. Spent the summers on or in the Des Moines river when not lifting the 80 pound round bales. First tractor I drove standing in front of Dad was a new JD 1949 B. Left the farm at 17 to go to school and marriage of 42 years and new job and a two years in the Army in the late sixties and retired over 4 years ago with 36 years. Have a nice 36 US B in work cloths starts ever time. Been on this site for 6 or so years. Poke a line every now and them and once in a while a question.Picked up some good sites on tool collecting from reading the comments.

Looking for direction on the A. Mom is getting tired of the lawn ornament.

I live in MN, about one half mile from canada. I been coming here for a couple a years. I don't usually post because my problems have already been covered and are archived. This site has been very informative to say the least. I have a 2 year old son who I hope will be interested in tractors and save a few from the boneyards himself. I have a MM UB and a massey harris 55. I have been working on and looking for information on a canadian made "dominion" gangsaw for quite a few years now. I hope to be able to get it running so the old man it belongs to will be able to see it run. He's been working on the project off and on for about 35 or 40 years. So, if anyone has any info on it I would love to hear it.

Though I've been active in here for a year or so, never formally introduced myself.

Name is pretty obvious, been farming sine I was 5, now 39. Spent the high school years working at a John Deere dealership prepping new tractors. Assembling lawn mowers out of the crate to larger items.

Continued to tech school for automotive repair and was employed at a very slow garage. Couldn't make the ends meet for the lifestyle I was in so I went to work at a marina. Young and dumb, spent more money in women and alcohol than I made. Left there to join law enforcement.

16 years later, I'm still doing the same with alot more experience and training.

Doing that today as well as 36 hours a week at the local Radio Shack store. Plus doing the farm for dad since his heart bypass 2 years ago.

Running all Massey Ferguson with the exception of the JD H and the 6620 combine. I started on the MF 165 gas baling hay. Now running a 1080, 2745, 2805 and I have 2 MF 10 garden tractors.

I stay up for days on end and its just been a way of life for so long, I'm used to it. Worked at the shack Friday, did the police gig Friday night, the shack Sat all day, and back to the police gig Sat night. I crashed Sunday morning at 6:30 am.

Seems most everyone so far is from the centerline east. I'm from Oregon born and raised have about 16 tractors. Custom farm and play with tractors in the winter cause wife says it keeps me out of her hair. 52 yrs old wife 3 kids horses and mules. Like to sneak a comment in once in a while

Rusty Jones checking in: I'm 83 plus, been a tractor mechanic, auto body man, auto mechanic, Volunteer fireman, Fire Policeman, a Bluegrass banjo picker, and now a lawn tractor and lawn mower repairman. Other than that, i'm not too busy!
I enjoy reading about the tractors, etc. and have learned a lot from the other parts of this forum.
Somebody asked me why i don't sit back and quit working. I tell them--if i quit, i'll probably croak!
I spent my summers on my Grand-dads farm, helping out as best a young feller could..
Am a veteran of WW II, lost my left foot in France-never went back to look fer it--that ocean is just too deep and wide fer me!
So, i'll give advice if i know it. Otherwise, thanks fer letting me post here in farm country!

Can"t believe how many guys are from MI. I reside in Davison Mi. 20 years old and do constuction. Have a JD B being restored, Farmall M Workhorse in great shape, and a mm u that needs restoring. Im going to school for construction management and getting married in the fall. Looking to do about 9 acres of hay next year and am in need of a baler and rake if any of you michigan guys got good leads. Nice to know a little about everyone.

Hi guy's! I don't post much just read what is said. Like my name I have case in my blood. 1070,830,511b,530,351,211b,cc,dc and a 960 case combine that I use. My son's have a 900puller,two vac's one a puller a 444 garden tractor and a 195 super stock garden tractor puller. Also my grandson who is three has a 124 cub cadet stock puller. I live in the middle of nowhere! It is a 100 miles to any larger town like KC, Springfield or Joplin. But I am between three lakes Stockton to the south Truman to the northeast and Lake of the Ozarks to the east. Like to fish just no time hardly. Retired MoDOT field mechanic of 29 years and now I run cattle and custom hay and cut fescue seed. I know some don't like tractor pulling but it takes a lot of know how to compete, with out of a lot of money. My oldest son was Missouri State fair champ more than once when he was going to school. My youngest son was point champ 3 year in the SMGTPA. That is doing it cheap. Keep posting and I will keep reading and once in a will I will put in my two cents worth.

Been on the site for a couple of years now and have enjoyed it very much. I just started posting recently. I am a Methodist pastor in South Central Mississippi. I have started collecting old Farmalls and restoring some of them. Also collect Gravelys and David Bradleys. Getting ready to retire in the next couple of years and doing this to have something to pass the time and maybe make an extra dollar of two for retirement play money.

Native Northeast Texan of 57 years. “Stay” (live) near Dallas, TX and employed at Eastfield College in Mesquite, TX. “Home” is 135 miles East of Dallas near I30. Go home to the farm every weekend.

Raise Cheyenne Bermuda grass as hay crop for the favorite wife’s horses and the neighbor’s cows.

Just another excuse for owning 7 John Deere tractors; 39B, 40B, 43B, 46A, 48A, 52A, 55 70Diesel. Only problem is that I can only ride on one at a time.

This is one of my favorite forums on this site. I am new to this forum, but about 3-4 years “listening and learning” from the John Deere forum.

Live in Northeast Iowa and travel around the country as a rep on hydraulic mining shovels and excavators. The wife and I own 300 ac and 25 beef cows. I have the '41 B Farmall that my granddad bought new, a 560 Farmall that we had as I was growing up, a '47 B JD, a '63 JD 4010 as a loader tractor, and a '77 JD 4630. I enjoy this forum and all the pictures. Keep them coming.

Hi everyone, I’m Mark.

I grew up on 80 acres in Linwood, MI; we currently live in Saginaw, MI. My wife and I have a 10-month-old baby boy. My wife and I bought 60 acres that have been in the family almost 100 years now. I'm excited about seeing it turn into a Centennial Farm in the next few years. It's currently rented out, but I'm looking forward to starting to farm it.

The tractors I grew up on are, since my dad still owns most of them, Olivers 66, 77 & 550, Massey Ferguson 65, Allis Chalmers CA & 190XT. I remember dad’s MF 85, but not the JD 70D. He has since added a JD 3010 and an Allis 185.

I use to have McCormick Deering 1954 Super W4 and 1954 Super W6TA, but know I only own a 1950 Farmall H.

I thank everyone that has helped me in the past those that will be helping me in the future. I love this site.

Im 33 married for 10 years in May and have a 5 year old girl that loves the tractors and thinks the combine is hers. Got a CaseIH 1666 combine, IH1456, IH756 and New Holland 1720 and big fan of tractor pulling.

Work in a machine shop making medical devices(components for replacement knees, hips, shoulders) and farm on the side with my retired dad. Have all colors of paint. 100 miles east of kansas city. Farmed all my life except for couple years helping uncle sam. Logged and ran a sawmill on the side. Cut down on the farming and ran construction equip for 10 years. Set up a welding and machine shop in 93 when had to come in to help take care of my mother. Worked on construction equip, farm equip, trucks and cars. Havn't done much in it last couple years. Bum heart only lets me bale some hay and take care of my cows. Learn something on here every now and then and always enjoy reading the posts. Jim

Guess I better tell about me too in self defense. I am 66 years old and retired from factory work for 6 years. Been around farming all my life. Now living on 28 acres and farming 23 acres of that. Have 13 Case tractors from a 1940 "V" to a 1960 "530" also have an IH 660 and a Farmall Cub.
Own and fly my own airplane and have an airstrip on the farm. Attend about 8 or 10 tractor shows each year. Like running the sawmills and threshing machines with my Case "LA"
Live alone with my Australian Shepherd, Bandy. Have 3 children and 6 grandchildren who have no interest in tractors or airplanes.
Do part time work for Amish neighbors, driving them around and hauling for them, plus some shop and engine work for them. Keeps the wolf away.
I will be hosting "Cubfest 2008" at my farm in June and expect a lot of the cute little tractors for the weekend of June 20-22

Its my real name. Me and my friends are addressed as geezers. I am 64 years old and a whole lotta miles. Retired 6 years ago from Cadillac motor car in poletown. Also electrical contractor and landlord for long time. Now I do a whole lotta nothing or less. Love cars, trucks, tractors, motorcycles. Used to collect guns, but not politically correct anymore. My greatest weakness is something that won't run and rumor has it that nobody can fix it. It will follow me home everytime. Tried to farm a whole 2 acres, but not anymore. Free grass cutting and electrical work for several churches. Tractors are Cub and A. Once had 2N. Really makes my day, these forums do. Appreciate any and all adv ice and will tell you anything I know. Keep up the good work all.

Hey Gary. Thanks for opening the thread. I love to read about all of the folks on here. I have been watching the site for about 4 1/2 years now and I cherish every minute. I am 56 yo living in Central Kentucky. I have a great wife of 32 years, four kids and one grandkid. I was born and raised on a farm for the most part until I went away to college. I love the classic hot rods and have a few. My boys and I have restored a couple of tractors, a 48 WD and a 55 To 35. We also have a Kubota 3630 4wd for the serious stuff. We have about 100 acres of very rough ground. We are slowly developing this ground to one day retire and raise cattle on. We have our own sawmill and have produced enough lumber to build a deck off of the back of our barn loft and fence about 1100 feet of three plank. We have cleared about 20 acres now and will begin logging this spring. We have a 1 acre lake and a new pond. I appreciate more than words can express the help I get from the folks at this site and I look forward to lurking every chance I get. Thanks to all and please forgive my ignorance from time to time.

Live in NW PA and work in a shop building coal mining machinery on the 3-11 shift.Wife and I farm part time,2-3 acres of sweet corn and pumpkins.Also help the rest of the family with the farming(about 100 acres roughly)We're all part timers except grandpa,who's retired.Got a picture of him planting corn with mules in 1945 and have the planter in my garage.

OK, probably a bit of a late reply as I have been away with work.
56yrs old, born on a dairy farm in New Zealand. Did mechanic's trade, specialised in heavy trucks but worked on anything. Moved to Australia in 1982. Got in to civil works (construction) and have been in that ever since, both as a contractor and now as inspector with the Main Roads people. Married 32 years this month, two teenage daughters and a wife that is much loved. Active Christian, but loves old tractors and machinery. Live on 5 acres, have 1940 Allis B and International 434 diesel. Better finish now, enjoy this site very much.

I live in the very middle of Washington State. Work part-time for the Federal Agency that was on the very top of the list of both employee and customer satisfaction until 2000, and is now at the very bottom. In my off-time I farm with an 8N, a TO-20, and my favorite, an MF-135. Previous life was auotmotive machinist, NAPA parts man, mechanic, welder, etc. Grew up on the farm I now work, in those days cows, pigs, chickens, ducks, rabbits, and the hay to feed them all. Skybow isn"t MY nickname-it was my Dad"s..I use it as a way of honoring him. Grew up dirt poor but very happy in SE Ohio (Meigs County) where the number one cash crop is still MJ. Worked on the tomatoe farms till college. Got an AF ROTC scholarship to OU and became a fighter pilot on active duty and the guard. Now I live in Iowa-"The Bridges of Madison County" on 40 hily acres-my dream farm. Have 5 horses, 2 yellow Labs and a barn cat. I use my JD 2940 to mow, move hay, and clean the driveway. I fly for an Airline so I have some nice time off. I consider you guys my friends and advisors. I can"t begin to count the times I have been given excellent counsel on this site. It has saved me lots of money and lots of time. You guys will understand this completely--I fly big jets around the country for a living but when I"m here at home on my 2940 baling hay I feel closest to God. There"s something good, and clean, and right bout it. Thanks for all your help

On the river bottom a couple of hundred yards from Frost (mile and a half upriver from Coolville. Dad was born &amp; raised in Torch. Family is scattered all over the country now but the immediate and some B&amp;S of Dad's are in Little Hocking, Belpre, and the area.

Danny Hall was gym, health, drivers ed teacher and coach. I believe his wife was a teacher or something too. Went to 1-3rd grade in Belpre then built a house on our campsite and moved to frost in '74. Terrorized the teachers thru 7th grade, moved to Little Hocking and done 8-9 at Warren, then back to the river and FH to to Graduate in '83 (last 2 years at Tri county JVS). Joined the Army and jumped off the train in Germany after the 1st Gulf War.
