329 gas engine into 1966 4020 gas? 4020 gas with hole in block but have good running 329 out of 6600 combine what do you need to put engine in 4020? I know engine is less cubes but tractor is used as chore tractor so smaller engine should not be problem Has anyone did this and what is entailed or maybe just bad idea.

Not very easy due to 329 being from different JD engine family. To mount engine similar to 329 CID in 4020 one would need a special flywheel housing(item 4) that would attach correctly to 4020 clutch housing plus engine flywheel might present a problem. 329 CID block would have no side frame bolt holes either. Yrs ago JD offered a kit to mount a similar family 4 cylinder engines in 3010/3020's
