I just received a modle 12 winchester #1366936,Ive been tring to date it but having no luck,can anyone help

My grandfather had a 12, gave it to my uncle and he sold it. I am still sore I did not get to make an offer on it.

Gordo I have 23 of the model 12 s what do you want.. I have 2 model 42 ( 410 version of the model ) I would buy another 42 if nice and also any model 12 28 guage.. Jerry

They are nice looking shotguns. My dad won a 16G in a raffle at a wolf hunt several years ago. He didn't want it so he gave it to my uncle. My uncle gave it to me a couple years ago. Uncle said he never fired it and after oiling it I never found any unburnt powder. Part of me sure wants to shoot it but I don't think I could ever bring myself to do it.

Guess now, I wouldn't either.... When I was 16 or so, was looking at a John Wayne addition winchester. Went to work the lever and the store owner bout had a heart attack. There were a few old guns around when I was growing up and I had several passed on to me....Ex wife and some of her family releived me of the stress of safegaurding them tho............

you may try contacting winchester directly.i saw a nice model 12 sell at a auction about a month ago,i bid it up to $160 and let it go since i had my eye on another one there,but i sure should have bought it.

I got a Winchester model 24 - 16G double barrel side by side. (Hammerless) that dates to the 1940"s. Had it appraised at around $1,000.00.

My dad has one that is a 1929, my grandfather bought it used in the 50"s. Still shoots good but is very worn.... I know my grandfather put 1,000"s of shells through it.

Kind of like at work one day, friend ,co-worker handed me a lever action rifle, I was going to open the action as I never hand some one a closed action weapon and he ,(like someone else said) nearly had a heart attack. NOOOOO, it will decrease it's value. HMmmmmm.

Have a 12 and a 16 gauge. best shotgun I think. Paid 500 for the 12 years ago and 700 for the 16. Also had 20 gauge model 12 sold for 800. Son has 12 and won't give it back(joke). Dave
