Wireless rain gauges

I bought a Lacrosse wireless rain gauge. 2 didnt work right out of the box, the third worked for 6 months, then crapped out. Farm and Fleet wont take it back, and Lacrosse wont honor the warranty. Looking through Amazon.com I see bad reviews on all the wireless gauges they offer. Anyone have one thats given them good service? I really want a wireless, but I may have to get a glass tube outside.

I have 2 made by Acu-Rite from Wally World. Had them over a year now and love them. Have to change batteries often is the only drawback. Change them out about every 2 months

I have a Oregon Scientific that is three years old now and only have changed the batteries once. No complaints what so ever. HTH

We"ve had our Lacrosse for over a year now -- tucked it neatly inside during the freezing weather, but have it outside again now. Seems to work fine -- in fact it registers the 1.42 in of rain we got in the past 24 hrs -- eastern panhandle of WV.
