Wiring/electrical question

I just purchased a couple parts at John Deere to wire into our 4640 and am looking for some input on doing this properly and there were absolutely no directions included. The two part numbers are as follows: RE 68495 (auxiliary power strip) and RE 69474 (wiring harness). The first part is the 6 outlet auxiliary power strip and the second part is a wiring harness with two 30 amp fuses wired in. Each outlet in the strip allows for one way to be "hot" at all times and the other way to be "hot" only with the key switch on. I want this for plugging in the three monitors used for planting (planter monitor, variable rate population control monitor, and liquid starter fertilizer control monitor). I am looking for some direction on where to pull the power from on this. The last time I did something involving wiring, there were at least some directions and drawings that came with the parts. This time there was nothing.

Eric , If your tractor has an enclosed cab there should be a power receptacle on the rear of the console to the right of the operators seat. remove the cover and locate where its tied to the wiring harness. I have seen some folks wire these straight to the battery, if u do this DON'T FORGET TO TURN EVERY THING THATS PLUGED IN TO THE STRIP OFF, OR YOU WILL FIND DEAD Batteries tomorrow
I HOPE THIS HELPS

There"s a couple of buss bars under the LH cover of the steering pedestal (over the toes of your left foot), with a relay between them.

One is always "hot" and the other one is activated when the key switch is "ON", operating the relay.

I think the correct place to attach auxiliary power strip would be to circuit breaker support similar to this supplemental wiring. This support is accessed by removing LH panel in front of dash. By attaching there an accessory relay could easily be utilized to control power strip with key switch.

I will look, but I am pretty sure I do not have that receptacle you are referring to on the side console. We do have that on the 4960 with both a keyed power source and an "always hot" power source, but I am pretty sure it is not something that was wired into the Sound Guard cabs until the 55 series came out in the late 1980's. This 4640 is a 1979 model
