wiring ?

d 14 no wiring on it at all, got new starter, wanting to put one wire alt. on ,12 volt, can i wire the new starter up with negative ground .

Starters do not care if they are + ground or - ground they spin the same way so that does not matter. Now an alternator hooked up wrong will smoke the moment you hook it up wrong. As for a 1 wire alternator I would not use one for 2 reasons. #1 they cost about twice what a 3 wire does and #2 most take 2000RPM to kick in the excite on them and that is maxing out your engine from the get go

If you use the 2 1/2 inch pulley on the alternator it will increase the rpm's at the alternator. 2000 rpm's at the alternator is achieved with this pulley with low rpm's from the engine. Alternator rpm's with the smaller pulley is way faster than the engine rpm's.
I use them on my B's and C's and those engines have never seen much over 1000 rpm's.

Very true but go back to #1 cost of a 1 wire over a 3 wires is about twice so why pay the extra cost. Plus I can get life time warranty ones for $45 but the 1 wires are only a year warranty so again why when the 3 wire is some much better and cheaper to boot
