No, explosion happenes when you shut the ignition while driving and then after the rich mixture accumulates in the exhaust you turn the ignition back on.
Potato in the tailpipe has the same effect as a clogged catalytic converter. If the exhaust is clogged no air can leave the motor so no air can come in and you have no power.

Well I got the Tractor to run but when I engage the Finish blade it Cuts Off, did a tune-up put a New Starter on it because the Starter was bad had that tested , what could be the problem with it Now

I put the Tractor to the side and Start using my riding mower until Last Week Started back working on it

Tell us what fixed the no start before we start the guessing game again.

l I took the Starter OFF And had it tested, it was bad it took me a minute to get it out cause it was Stuck on the Flywheel, Also I rebuild the carb Put New Plugs in and a New Choke Cable that wasn't working

Did you try adjusting the carburetor for a little richer mixture?

yes,I Adjusted the carburetor, several times but no Luck, it only shuts down when I engage the blades Now, will advancing the timing help any

I ordered some New Points and condenser, when they arrive I will Install them , but I did check And Set the old ones , trying everything before I go out and buy another Tractor, maybe I'll Service my1950 John Deere Tractor and Put in back in service it's been sitting about 10 years since I got the Ford
