Hi everyone, glad I found this site, I could do with some help & advice please.

Ive just bought my first ever tractor which is a very nice clean 1100d equipped with 3 point linkage and uk standard pto. Unfortunately im already starting to think I may have purchased the wrong tractor, perhaps a bit underpowered. I have a 5 acre site which is mainly grass, all I want to do is keep the grass down and cut it to a fiarly decent standard.

I am looking for at least a 5ft rear cutting deck but it seems 4ft is the max size for the 14hp 1100d. Can anybody help me with this, is there a 5 or even a 6ft rear cutting deck that my 1100d would cope with.

Thanks guys, any advice much appreciated.

Gary

You don't mention which part of the UK your in which makes it harder to try and help.

Anyway we have recently acquired a YM1601D with a 3 Cyl 16PS rated engine and have found on out grass and field which is also Five acres that using the Fleming 1 metre topper that on it's lowest cut setting that the 26 PS engine struggles a bit. This happens in several patches of a particular grass which grows very dense and close. The field is natural re-growth after being left fallow.

We will be talking to the dealer about upgrading during the next week and are looking for 18-20HP in a 4WD format. The dealer is aware of this and is being very helpful. It's out restricted budget that is the stumbling block.
