I'm glad to hear that you got it all fixed. It looked pretty cold on that M a couple of weeks ago. It doesn't sound to me like you need lessons on the guitar, but that's just my opinion, and there's always something to learn from other pickers.

Yeah, it's nice to have my Hydro back 'cause that transmission is so darned smooth and fast to use.

Oh, I've got a "mental" problem with that silly guitar. Was at the jam on Sunday and the folks didn't want me to use my amp; just plugged me into a box they had there. Shoulda known better than to get up there in the first place because for me it never, ever works.

I've got this tone in my head and if the guitar doesn't sound right to me, I'll fall out of a song in a heartbeat. Every time. Been that way all my life.

I know it's a "head" problem, but don't know how to correct it. Too old to learn too, I would suppose. :>)

Wife & I have pretty much canceled - well moved to the weekend - the minor Christmas plans, and will just hunker down. No point fighting a 3-day snow warning.

Allan, I know where you're coming from. I used to do a bunch of solo singing in church for weddings and the such, along with leading the congregation at regular services. If the building's accoustics aren't quite the same or if the organ/piano doesn't sound quite right, getting that first note out on key is nerve wracking. Keep up the good work. You sound fine to me. That morning it was so darned cold. Tractor wouldn't start and I had to jump start it.

Battery is a bear to get to inside the cab, so I just used the positive post on the starter for the positive contact.

Yeah, I did accidently short the jumper cable over to the hydrostatic filter and burned a hole in it on the back side. Couldn't see it from the left side of the tractor, but that is for darned sure where the smoke was coming from.

That filter is indirectly connected to the hydraulic suction manifold. Therein lies the area where the air was coming from. :>(

Positive news is that I had a "refresher" course on how rear ends and hydrostatic transmissions are disassembled and reassembled.

Oh yeah, and I ran number nine wire thru every blessed hydraulic line on that tractor looking for "ice". Didn't find any. :>)

Just an idea, but in the old days the service trucks had battery lugs, wired to the battery, and mounted on a board outside the truck. They could hook the cables up without opening the hood. Maybe you could hook up something like that to simplify life when it's dark & cold and the old girl needs a tickle. Good luck- joe-

I run 30w diesel engine oil in all my tractors. Just gotta remember to plug 'er in when it's suppossed to get that darned cold. :>)

But yeah, I was just thinking that too.

That is one lesson I am glad I have learned from you. I usually go to the block when possible but will be sure to take note on that one.
