Young farmer help

I think I can help you with the cab thing. I worked at Hiniker cab R&D The cab frame is the same for every make and model. Takes different mount brkts and different filler plates. If you have welding abilities you can make the mounts. Hiniker was rubber mounted also and I believe yeararound is as well. You can remove all the windows and doors on Hiniker. Lot of people on here will cuss them old add on cabs... loud, noisey and dirty but when they went out the factory door back in the day they were nice. But as the foam padding and door, window gasket started deteriorating nobody ever replaced. When the floor mat wore out they just kept going. When the sound deadening material fell down under the hood and the cowl they just threw them in the burnpile. Now 50 yrs later they talk them down. Ever stop to think how your pickup would be if you ripped all the carpet and upholstery and window, door gaskets out?
I agree with flying belgian.

I sold/supervised installing new Hiniker & Y-A-R cabs around 1980. Both cabs were very similar in design. When addressing operator noise level one could install insulation to make them more operator friendly. With operating AC in Summer & heater in Winter they made operating tractor more comfortable in harsh weather conditions. If no AC compressor was to be installed in warmer weather one could remove doors & open windows & have a sun shade. IIRC they also offered to tractor operator roll-over protection!!!!!!

Thanks for the update, sounds like it is going well! As for your grammar even though these forums might have mostly old codgers that may not care how your posts read, I for one would encourage you to practice it here otherwise proper written communication will be lost. In what you wrote about every 15 words or so up to 25-30 would make up a sentence. Every sentence needs a subject and verb, the “subject” doing some “action”, the action being the verb. So as your first line starts “I posted…” I is the subject and posted is the verb. Better leave it at that or I’ll get run out of town.
Here is a link to the previous thread you are referring too. Previous advice thread
Yes better be careful, the correct police are watching your every word and punctuation mark. 👨‍🌾

As far as a cab, look for a Year Round or Hiniker? Warmer for you in the fall and you can take off windows and doors for a sun shade in the summer! Cozy cab, two doors may come off, but windows stay in and only slide to open one side.
The cozy cabs we had all the windows except the front ones could come off.

My family had several tractors with cozy cabs and I've driven some with year around and hiniker. The later models of all of them were very similar, all rubber mounted and quieter than the early steel boxes. You want one no matter the brand that has angled sides and not the early ones that are just square boxes. The angles keep the echo down and they are more comfortable. Lining them with padding and a floor mat also helps with both noise and heat. I live north of you and am looking for some for my tractors too, was a cold spring and last fall out in the open.

X2 on the angled sides. My YAR has the straight sides and is very cramped to get into. It serves the purpose but I've been looking for a "diamond" type with the angled sides to replace it. My Hiniker has the angled sides and is way easier to get in and out of, and has a lot more room inside.

There is an Allis person south of Sleepy Eye, towards Lake Hanska.

If you see Steve on Craig’s list I have visited with him on some combine parts, I think he does the orange tractor salvage also.

My Granddaughter is 3rd year college going for an English major. I need to sharpen up my skills so I can communicate with her after graduation.
