Since I just turned the rype old age of 74 last monday(wife has same birthday)I was thinking what are the ages of the members of the ,caint beleive I made it this long club.Life is great so what are the ages of the posters that frequent tris site,I told mine and would like to hear from others as old ,or older.Lets hear from you,I am proud I survived this long.oooooooooooooooo
 
You're just a youngster. I turned 74 last December.

I'm also still working full time, and I don't feel any different or look at myself any differently than I did 40 years ago.
 
One and a half miles up the road, there is a tombstone with my name on it.. One date says 1952; so far, the second date is blank..The tombstone engraver must have got a little lazy and not finished his job, but I don't think I will complain..
 
I just turned 80, Live in Oklahoma. I live on the farm with my son. Wife in nursing home she is 79. I do not do any work has I am in a elecric wheel chair when I go out side, Son converes regulary with me about his operation..He is alway trying the latest methods and asks for my advise, I milked cows till I was 74 and quit for a second knee replacement on the other knee. It was not a success, Still like to see those old girls being milk and be shown.

67 been all over the world tried retiring 2 years
ago. Back at the dealership about 6 to 8 hr a day
Life is grand in Tennessee.. OH almost died for 21 days last Nov so it is really good now. Makes you see just how good life is. Jerry
 
I'll be 53 on the 29th of this month. Had 2 heart attacks on the same day in 2001 then had a 6 way by pass a couple days later...I'll be dead soon, lol

67 , just did 3 weeks on a crane 12 hour days. I"m also on no meds. First great-grand daughter born last night. Life is good.........
 
71 here. Still able to sit up and take nourishment most days. Stopped jumping off the wagon though. No Doctor meds yet. Work 5 days a week at the factory and work most every evening at home as well as weekends.
Mom is 93 today. Still lives alone and drives. Can't get her to take a load of corn or beans to the Co ops any more. Kinda stuborn about such things after she passed 75. Still mirror backs the car as well as I do.
 
I'll turn 55 this month, Mom was 77 in February, and Grandma will turn 99 in March. Mom was telling me when I visited them on Tuesday how grandma still insists on using her own riding mower on the lawn, even though a neighbor comes over and does most of her yard when he mows his own yard. Grandma says he doesn't trim close enough to her flowerbeds to suit her, and she'd rather do that part herself anyway. She also tends to about 4 tomato plants, because the doctor told her to limit her exposure to the sun due to some meds she takes. So she doesn't plant any corn or beans anymore.

Grandma still drives herself to Wal-Mart, the grocery, and her hair appointments. Mom works anywhere from 3 to 5 days a week serving meals at the senior citizen center, besides still singing in the church choir, and being an officer in the local saddle club, a 4-H Horse and Pony club leader, and a member in a local Extension Homemakers club, the ladies' group at her church, and a group called the Royal Neighbors of America...besides taking care of her 4 horses [which we can't talk her into selling].
 
I feel 35 but I am 40. No real health problems.......Yet. As long as I live past 50 to see my son grow up then I will have lived and done everything I was supposed too.....Still saving for retirement. The stock market is a mess though.

My wife is 38 and she found out 4 months ago that she is now a full blown diabetic.....Insulin once a day, just one slip away from being an absolute train wreck in my opinion.
 
My wife is also a [Type 1 ??] insulin-dependent diabetic, was diagnosed at age 13. She's 47 now. Hope your wife does better about her diet choices than my wife. Surgeries take longer to heal, and most "mild" diseases are more severe for her.
 
54, and MOST of the vital organs are still working OK. Never really get sick, but beating my body up, working in the cold and heavy work for the last 45, kinda makes it hard to do anything when your joints don't want to move! (Keep kidding dad that he should have ordered the HD joints while I was in the assembly line!!)

BUT! I'm still smiling & kicking (just not too high)
 
I'm old enough now to be legal forgittin.
my motor runs bad, don't purr like a kitten.

The first month of next year if I'm still alive.
I'll wake up in morning I'll be 65 <}:>)}
 
64 and counting to the ripe old age of 120 if it hasn't any wheelchairs and nursing homes as a way of life
 
I"m soon to be 78[11/18/09]. Wife is 75. She is recovering from total hip replacement, doctor told her "good to drive", and away we go.Good luck to everone and God Bless. CC
 
Sweet potatoes are very good for diabetics. They stimulate the pancreas to produce more insulin.

Prayer for her sent. May you both live long enough to see grandchildren.
 
64 tomorrow. Just retired. Worked for years in the oil patch and later the Post Office. Now have the most beautiful 7 acres on earth. Plan to stay on it for another 50 yrs or so.
 
68 been retired for 6 1/2 years. I just can't understand you guys that work on past 62 or 65 and take someones job that needs it to live, if you haven't made it at that age your not going ot so you might as well quit . and let some else try.
If you can't find something to do to keep your self busy you don't have much of a life any way.
I once worked in factory that had three generations working there one man his son and a grand son. the grand son would get laid off about twice a year but the grandfather that was 72 would work every day . We asked him why he didn't retire, he said he was making too much money to retire. We figured his retirment and he would get more to stay home than work "TAKE HOME".
 
Oldmax,,,, it's all about greed for one thing,,, and,,,, those who work past retirement, have to work cause they haven't saved a nickel, and spent every thing they made,,,

It all boils down to common sence,,, and most don't have a ounce of common sense, you can tell that just by reading their comments on this forum,

I started saving when I was 40, just after I paid off our home with a 20 year loan and raising our children, and in 25 years, Iv made some good investments, and now the rewards are great, and I did it by myself, I wanted my wife to stay home with our kids as a mother should,

but most,,, spend like crazy,,, and it shows...((Crazy))

Holy cow, I know exactly where Hoagland is. I buy my brown swiss cattle from a gentleman a couple miles from Hoagland. Its a blink and miss it kind of town.

Oh well, some days I try to act like I'm 25 and other days I feel like I'm 75 - so all in all, it's not too bad.

Turn 72 on 9/7/2009 and live out in the country near Wickenburg Arizona.Don't/can't collect full size Tractors or Implements but have a large collection of 1/16th Scale Models of same.Like to go to the Antique Tractor shows here in Arizona and also in Lake George and Salida Colorado. RVing in our Jayco 5th Wheel Trailor is our way of having a good time. Visiting Family and Friends is important.Been retired since '99 and having a good time.
 
66 last June. Tried to retire three times, finally figured it out. Don't have time to think about it much, I'm way too busy.

67, I retired a few years ago form 36 years at my factory job. Now I just can't quit, and have continued my Dad's discing business, he started in the 40's I also added mowing. He quit around 83 years old. Hope I can do the same, I just enjoy still being able to take my tractors out, and getting paif for it. What a deal. That's why I don't play golf.Stan
 
52 , Work like I m 42 , feel like I m 72 , everything hurts but I grit my teeth and go on .
 
Just 70 --- but can keep up with Any 50 year old,, and only take one med, for high blood pressure, that's just to keep me from keeping up with the 30 year olds.

only have one wife in 50 years, and she's just like the day I married her. even better...
 
61 on the 22nd of this month. Gonna load hay behind the square baler tomorrow, good Lord will'in. My young bride of 41 yrs. will drive the 1800 Oliver with the old JD 24WS behind it.
 
I'll be 85 on september 14. Fixing lawn mowers and other stuff. Do a bit of auto body fixin--just hit a deer a week ago, so thats the fixin!
Wife about late 70's--too grumpy to ask right now! She smoked cigs all her life, and is paying it back now! I smoked a seegar occasionally but never inhaled. The paint fumes did a number on me, especially the new auto paints--make me wheeze--you auto painters--heed the warnings!

On April 18th I was in the tractor cab plowing when birthday wishes came over the radio from the local Sat. oldies show. My wife had called in the special request as I was turning 18 for the third time. I reached up to turn up the volume, the tractor bounced, and I hit the wrong button! Missed a little of the wishes, but knew what was coming since I told my wife when I left that morning about being 18x3. But I heard the whole dedication song- Lacy J Dalton-"Takin' it easy"
 
39, live in the north central region of the great commonwealth of Kentucky and am in training to run a full marathon next spring a few months before I turn 40
 
Turned 31 this past Feb.

Feel like I am 50, act like I'm still 20. I am starting to think the two might have somthing in to do with each other.

55 live in westen pa. been here all my life drill water wells, repair oil wells for a living, work on old trucks and tractor for fun. love this site.

Rich, where abouts? Two friends from my town went up there to farm. First near Oswego he's been back here about 12 years. the other in Fowler, he's still there.
 
Gitrib I just turned 60 still going pretty good, at least while people are watchin' Yesterday at the tractor pull the Patriach of the fair was there in his elec. wheelchair and his Farmall regular was there. Then they set him up on it and he backed up to the sled and then he pulled it way down the track. I've been buying my seed from him for probably 25 years and he's always had some good stories. he must be 85 yrs old.
 
I'm in Cambridge, New York, in the eastern part of the state, just on the Vermont border. Oswego is in western New York. I don't know where Fowler is, though.
 
Wow. No offence, but thats OLD. By the way, I'm thirteen. Ha ha. I'm not kidding. My dad looks at the webiste and I just decided to be an idiot and reply. I'm halarious. By the way: I LOVE TACO BELL. If you ever go to Taco Bell, get the chalupa and a soft beef taco, with LOTS of Fire sauce. I love Fire sause. Its SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good. Anyway, my dad wants me to put his age on this so here it is: 46. He's old isn't he??? JK!!! He's not "that" old(yet).
 
I turned 82 in May. I am raising cattle on a 240 acre ranch. I bale my own hay and I am in the process of clearing the timber off of 75 acres. Roy

I'm 46!!! I'm actually the right age! My daughters are TacoBellLuver and ToYoungToReplyToThisCrap. TacoBellLuver is the oldest and awesomist kid ever!!! All Hail TacoBellLuver! She is the queen of the world. She's the most wonderful person I've ever met and she's amazing. She really does like Tacos from TacoBell. Fire sauce is pretty good,too. She just drank all of my tea!!! :-( LOL :-)
 
I was born on Feb 29, 1948, (Leap Year), so I"m 15 1/4 years old.
Last year, when I turned 60,(15), my 12 year old grandson made the observation that he and I will both be 16 on the same year.

Turned 70 last thursday. Farmed first 25 yrs,sat
behind a desk runnin a transportation co. the last
20 yrs. Retired 2 years ago. Got my C.D.L. last
year. Plan to drive and see some country for a couple of yrs or so. Sitting in a office for 20 yrs. will make you go crazy.

I also started saving at abou the same age as you. Our income isn't GREAT but it is more than some people make nowdays, Home paid for as well as every thing else. olaned for retirment at 62. Wife also planed to retire at 62. and she did. we are both engoying it to the fullist. I piddle in my work shop and she quilts in her new quilting room I built after her retirment. Now if I could get rid of some property that has become a libility and not an asset I would be doing good.
 
Turned 65 in June. Currently enjoying good health as a nearly 8-year cancer survivor. Live on the central Indiana farm where I grew up. This is my 43rd year as a middle school technology teacher, and I'm not retiring until it quits being fun.
 
61 an retired - had open heart surgery at the age of 54 leaving me with 20% of my heart but I never gave up! I'm always trying keeping myself busy without going over board mostly tinkering with tractors.

Had stress test back in May and my heart improved
15% more so I must be doing something right in pass 7 years.
But will never see the spring chicken days again!!!

Guys, 52 yrs old, Spent 08 "completely replacing" and rehab Both shoulder joints! I have an 1&7/8 steel ball in each shoulder. Big enough to pull a horse trailer with!
Had a Stroke on my 52nd birthday in March of this year, wife got me to the Hospital, They gave me that "Clot Busting Shot" 30 minutes later I come too my senses, none the worse for wear! Hence I am a walking talking miracle of My LORD Jesus and Modern Medicine! Only Rx is a Plavix pill once/day.
Pretty good shape for the shape I am in!!!

57 going on 75. Birthday is on Christmas. I'm working on a bin crew right now and they hired this kid that is a teat shy of an udder. His first day he came up to me and said" Boy, for an old guy, you sure do work hard". I told him that's all I know how to do. Chris
 
Had a pacemaker installed on June 16th.

Turned 48 on June 18th.

Got married on June 19th.
We'd been together for 30 years. Figured I'd trained her long enough - if she hasn't learned by now...
 
Thank you Oldmax,,,, I'm in the same boat as you,,, I need to sell some land I don't need, it was a wonderful investment 35 years ago, but now have to sell and do some traveling.

maybe I'll go down to Taxes and check out some of the underbridge dwellers who like sending nasty messages, ha ha,,,

41, be 42 in December. Kind of like some others, feel older, act younger.... wonder if their may be some correlation, lol.
 
71 with birth certificate expired 1 year ago. (Psalms 90:10, length of our lives is 3 score plus 10 years). Live in SW IL on property where dad had an AC dealership. I'm a retired government employee married to second wife almost 13 years. Still looking forward to our first quarrel. Take lots of pills, the purple pill likely caused by first marriage of 19 years.
 
I was born & raised in Kaukauna, live in an apartment on the North side, But in a few months I'll be living in Hilbert. We just accepted a counter-offer on a house we wanted to buy. We'll be able to move in the first week of November if everything pans out.

This is all in NE wisconsin, right above Lake Winnebago.
