Zenith Clone

Has anyone used the USA made Zenith clone carburetor that’s available from Steiner? If so is it worth the $280. I don’t want to use the cheap China clone but need a replacement. I know that they are easily rebuilt. Problem is a previous owner has been in it and tried to get one of short jets out and ruined the jet and bottom housing. I might get the housing usable but haven’t found a carb kit with the jets included.

If you want to repair your carb you should be able to get jets from an antique carb specialty place such as Mark's magneto, and a bunch of others who's names escape me at the moment, but I'm sure others here will contribute some possible sources.

What tractor what model zenith?
Rebuild kits with the jet are available from a lot of places. Yesterdays tractor is a good place to try if they have it you will have to dig.
The ones listed above are all good.
If you happen to have a catalog book from the place you mentioned above you will have better luck finding just the jet you need or a complete kit. J and D productions can be some help finding things that some of the others have backordered.
I have used a cheap carb on a super c. I wouldn’t recommend it. Not as adjustable as I’d like however it has gotten the job done. Mine was like 35 dollars and has lasted 10 years feels foolish to complain but it has always been a bit doggy at acceleration. The plan is to go through it this summer and refresh it a bit so it’s on the list.
