zero turn mowers

bought a woodsmow'n machine 1850. 18 hp brigs & stratton 50 inch cut . the man said he thought it was made by grashopper. went and looked a friends grashopper it is a lot latter model with a kubota diesel engine, many of the components are the same. my mower must be atleast 20 years old. can any one shed some lite if it made by grashopper ? thanks

I have one of each. made by grasshopper, about same age one was 18 hp IC briggs twin cyl opposed. both I think 61 in decks. taking up shed space, no motors. otherwise were usable when parked 10 years ago, also have newer with kubota diesel, hydrostat weak on 1 side. scottz

About 20 years ago a dealer told me that Grasshopper made the power unit and Woods made the decks. However, Woods didn't get the latest and greatest power units, they were usually a year or two behind the Grasshopper mowers.
