Hey Jon, I saw on a post in May, that you are looking for a pair of side shields. I do have a pair. If you send me your phone number I can send pictures. The best part about this, is, I'm just down I-35 west of Des Moines a bit. So not too far from you. gobble Tom Hagen

I saw you had a problem with tractor stuck in reverse. What solution did you come up with to free it up? Mine is a Massey ferguson to-35. 1955 or 56 I think. worked great when parked. A couple months it set while I had surgeries. Started right up up shifter won't move and stuck in reverse. Can't find any information on this.
If same engines probably will. If engines are only a few years apart and same specs, probably will. Our loader/scraper JD 300 Industrial has same engine as swather, 1.8l 4 cylinder and I stole the fuel pump from baler (NH) with same mounting holes and mating shape as tractor, works fine. Living in Brussels was a wonderful. So how are the banking characteristic on le Tracteur Aeroporte
I have a 53 ford golden jubilee. I replaced the rear wheel bearing and 1 axle. When I torque the bearing holder for lack of a better term the axles turn the same way. I have 4 shims on one side and 3 on the other. Of I loosen the bolts just a little the axles turn opposite. Should I use more shims or do I maybe have something else going on? The bearings and races are all in all the way.
I am married 62. I am just learning about older tractors. It is great my wife supports me in my endeavors. I do have a 1951 Case VAC 5555045. It has been a struggle to get it to run properly. I think I am close. I am up to running with sparks and flames out the exhaust??

Also the cable is not disengaging the PTO ( is an issue there ).
Looking for info to resolve the PTO as is engaged.
I do need a new T-Handle on dash.
Need info on cable ( if needs replacing and set up )
Norman glad to have you here I have rebuilt a few k532 engines with your parts over the last 4 years. Now I am working on a M16 Kohler and I am wanting to know if the third balancer gear is to be positioned identically with the others or 180* opposite. The manual says position it parallel to the other two gears?

Hi Joe! Thanks for the message I got your email just now too. I am going to email you the kohler service bulletin with instructions for the 3 balance gear set up.. They essentially install so all the heavy side of the balance gears are 180 oppose the counter weight of the crankshaft. I will send that email to you now.
It is with deep sadness that I share an update on SWEDE in Iowa's behalf. On 07-07-2025, we lost our beloved dad, husband and grandpa to a sudden cardiac event. He spoke fondly of this group and enjoyed sharing tractor knowledge here. For any unfinished correspondence, please reach his son Andy at

Thank you and God bless.

About 80 years ago, while I was in school and could not get to watch, my father and someone skilled, dynamited the top of a rock that would snag the plow. He hauled the pieces away and it never bothered the tillage since. How, I asked and said they covered the rock and dynamite with soft mud, then blew it. My question,,,,is that how you fracture the rock or was he jivven me?
