International 574 issue running in run position

My 574 gasser had the same type issue - The problem was bottom of the gas tank, right where the glass bowl screws in - Gotta take it out & get the crud out.

    560 run a backhoe?

I have a JD [bradco] 3ph backhoe, I use on my 574 when I need to. The tractor has a 12 gpm pump too, it's no speed demon, but theres no time clock on me. I've dug out some rocks & stumps that barely wiggled when I started. You might want some front end weight, as these are pretty heavy.

    Farmall A sickle bar

I had an A years ago, the sickle bar mower bolted right under the tractor, 6 bolts I think on the rear. - It had a 6 ft bar & manual lift . Made a man out of you picking that head up & down. Not sure if I have a pic. I'll look.

    Easy Off Oven cleaner

I've found WD40 to be worthless as a penetrating fluid - might as well use orange juice.

IH 674 gas tractor - runs like %$#@...

Gas in the engine oil - Bad fuel pump? How else could it get in there? Years ago my 574 [gasser too] was really running bad, i did all the easy stuff [plugs, points, etc] was getting ready to order a carb, about 200.00 at the time - A friend that i miss dearly was at my place one day, told me...

    454 gas not running right

Joe - If your problem [needing the choke] started after you had the carb. off & apart, then you put the plastic venturi back in upside down.

my ih 574 loader hydraulic hookup

Some 30 years ago, i needed to add a 2 spool valve for a loader on my 574. This is what i came up with, it's worked ever since. The pics are hard to get, wheel & tire and muffler are in the way. Down on the MCV, I took off the steel pressure line that goes up under the seat to the one aux...

my ih 574 loader hydraulic hookup

Not what I said - The fluid goes through the new 2 spool valve, back through the aux valve, and back to the system. All works as it should.

The plastic or brass venturi on top of the carburetor needs to be big end up -

    Really hard starting cub

I agree with Larry about the valves -

    International 454 missing

My 574 did the same thing a few years ago - There is trash [rust, etc] in the bottom of the gas tank, right above the fuel bowl, you have to drain the tank, remove the bowl & shutoff valve to clean it out. Also, a fine screen in the carb right where the fuel line goes in.

    454 Replacement Radiator Question

Some years ago a local radiator shop replaced the whole core on my 574 rad. Much cheaper than buying new.

Just wondering - How do you move a non running dozer? You know, get the blade up, winch it onto a trailer?

    Another 454 MCV valve question

I'd put it in the freezer for a few hours, you never know one metal might shrink more than the other - For heat, maybe a hair dryer or paint stripper, i'd be afraid of warping it with a torch.

    464 Gas Engine Stalling

My 574 [same setup I believe] was doing something similar last winter - The brass fitting above the glass fuel bowl had become plugged with a stringy material, maybe dead bees? Not sure what it was. Definitely not rust. When I finally got that cleaned out, it hasn't skipped a beat. Had to...

    International 454

The tractor is not an M Farmall, the only thing IH says to use in there is IH Hi Tran. Someone let that oil stay in there years too long, which is why it's so gunked up. Make sure you are changing the filter too.

    International 454

You'd have been better off to put hyd. oil back in, run that for a few hours & change it. No way i'd put diesel in mine.

    300 utility pros and cons

I had one 40+ years ago, loader, no p.s., fast hitch, not live pto. As soon as I could afford it, I traded it in on a new 574 - Like going from a Yugo to a Cadillac = As the others said, pass it by.
