Ignition switch for A/B

In working the sweet potato field we had a super a, 130, 140 that were used a LOT. Never had a switch go bad. Every summer the cultivators were on 2 of these tractors and a sprayer with a 5 row boom was on the other. Cultivate 75ish acres of potatoes at least twice one row at a time. Sprayer went across at least once sometimes twice. In the fall a belly mower went on one and disc hillers set reversed to square up the row for the digger was on another one. Believe I would buy a simple house style light switch to use. Tape around it instead of hooking unhooking a hot wire.

As old well knows, YT sells parts, no need to advertise for Steiner. He will likely keep going with the jumper wire as he likely has one tucked away somewhere or in another parts unit.

Y-T doesn't carry a factory type ignition switch for the A or the B which is what I had hoped for. All the push pulkl or toggle type switches I have tried over the years got ad in less then 2 years

It won't be cheap but buy a good marine switch, as has been suggested. You have a franken tractor, why are you locking yourself into an original type of switch, get a switch that will hold up.

I've tried the marine type switches that O'Reilly's auto part has and they didn't last but a year or so.

To some extents do you see that old's post is just jerking everyone, who replies, chain. From the beginning he knows the problem, knows how to fix it, and chooses to stay using a "hot" wire (jumper wire might be a better term). It just gives him the chance to tell people, who are in good faith making good suggestions for the most part, why their ideas aren't worth trying for him.

If old should ignore our "nonsense" then perhaps we should Ignore old's "nonsense". Personally, I think he likes most of this banter and knows exactly the type of replies to a post like this will bring, or he wouldn't post things such as this that are clearly going to get some replies that are nonsense or on the harsh side.
