    Did you try to shift it into 1000 with the 540 shaft in? If you did that was a mistake. There is a safety pin built into the unit so you cannot shift it into 1000 with the 540 in.     You need to run a high quality hyd. oil in those systems. You are working with a closed center piston pump that is gravity fed through the filter. Most will be a 10wgt.

    That is a closed center piston pump in a 105. Use only a high Quality Hydraulic oil in it.You drain the system through the plug on the bottom of the filter canister.     The oil pump has the gear on it. It drives the distributor Through the tang on the distributor shaft. Towards the top of the distributor is the gear for the tach drive.
