    730d rod knock

When you mean it won't idle, do you mean it will not slow down or will not run at idle? Can the metal in the oil filter be picked up by a magnet? It sounds like a governor weight let go and was shredded in the timing gears. Feel free to email me.

    4450

Our 4450 has less than 1500 hours on it. They are great tractors and start great in cold weather. Good luck!

    620 operating temperature

The steam is probably coming from the radiator cap not sealing or a small leak in the radiator. IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE BOILING TO PRODUCE STEAM! (Especially in cold weather.) Think of taking a shower and the bathroom gets steamed up, but the water you are using IS NOT BOILING! If the water in...

    detweiler disappointment.

If you think that John Deere parts are high, just wait until you start on an AC. We are helping the FFA at our high school work on a CA and they have spent more money on it than it would cost to restore a JD B in comparable shape.

    John Deere 730 Hydraulics ?

There is a long "nut/cap" on the right side of the hydraulic box on the back. Unscrew it and it will reveal a slotted screw. Unscrew the screw and then screw it into the "nut" as far as it will go with the slot facing inside the "nut." Reinstall. When the hydraulic lever is pushed forward...

    4020 D Wiring

Thank you for your reply. I will be replacing everything on it. The aftermarket ones had a note on them that they could not get the same connectors as the factory ones, but could reuse the old ones. Do you think the Deere harness will be okay if I replace all the wiring? Also, are there any...

    4020 D Wiring

We are repairing our fire-damaged '68 4020. I have found the wiring harness after-market, but was wondering what the quality was compared to Deere's. Is Deere's wiring harness the best one to get?

    Calling all H specialists

The shield needs to be centered on the shaft. The new cam bearings changed the position of the shaft and now allows the pulley to rub on the shield. The best way to fix this is to snug the shield bolts up just enough that it will move by tapping with a hammer. Reinstall the pulley and tap the...

Delco voltage regulator - what does it fit?

Your regulator looks to fit many IHs and JDs that were 6 volt and that did not mount on the generator. I would be interested if you wanted to sell it.

    HELP: Early Snapper Mower Hub

I am in need of an early drive wheel hub that has teeth on the inside ring and the brake band exposed on the outside of the hub. I have had some leads, but nothing matches. What years did they use this type of hub? How much is the mower worth in really good condition? Thanks, Dale

    Prayers needed

Our thought and prayers are with Janie. I heard about it at the tractor pull tonight after seeing your post. Janie told me before this year's primary that Bill loved being a councilman. He will be missed greatly by many people. Dale

    1957 JD 620 exhaust spacer question ?

Nice looking original paint 620!!! It looks like the radiator top tank is off of a 630. That would explain the 630 muffler spacer and the taller radiator neck. You should be able to switch the radiator neck with a 620 neck and not have to change the top tank.
