    730 Diesel w/pony ignition switch

I need a new ignition switch for my 730 D w/pony. Who sells the best one?

what would you consider low hours for a backhoe?

Another obvious point to remember with "used" equipment is this. They are selling for some reason. Many times it can be because their mechanic has discovered something that is about to cost a bunch of money. They have depreciated it off the books in most cases, so it makes more biz sense to buy...

    into the PTO I go!

I found an NOS PTO shaft so with the new disk, this one is almost new again.

    into the PTO I go!

I decided to replace the piston O-ring and wiper while I had it all open. My O-ring was trash, allowing the 3 point to leak down or "hiccup" when a load was on it. All other test are good.

    into the PTO I go!

Closer pic of the pump. Be sure to have the JD service manual as the pump is unique in how it is removed and replaced. New oil seal is installed.

    into the PTO I go!

I am finishing up a 730 Diesel Powertrol/Live PTO rebuild so I will share a pic. The Powertrol casting is extremely heavy so be careful and have some help and a good means of lifting. My guess is 500 LBS. The pump is at the bottom with the splined shaft. The seal is on that shaft. It is best to...

    Powertrol Housing oil seal

Bob, You are spot on, thanks for the fast reply. I looked at it and it just did not seem to draw a direct to the same hole. But now that I looked again, that is the one that I need. Thanks again!

    Powertrol Housing oil seal

What is the part number for the oil seal where the shaft goes in that operates the lift? It goes in on the right rear of the housing. I cannot find a part number in the parts book on any of the pages showing the Powertrol Housing.

    60 PTO clutch oil

I would not use anything but hydraulic oil that is to HyGuard standards. I would not use trasnny fluid, this is a wet clutch sytem, not an automatic transmission.

    MI JD tractor

Bryce, I have a few M-20 mower parts. You can let me know what you need. One thing I have is very hard to find, it is the belt shield for the PTO.

    Cody adgent Tenn

When a fellow is willing to type on a public web site that he would return my money, I would take him up on it and return the product. Very few companies will refund shipping charges, it is just the way it is.

    outrageious prices

Car makers figured out some years ago that they have at least four ways to rip us off. 1. Selling the vehicle. 2. Over priced options and add ons. 3. Financing the vehicle. 4. Designed parts failure. Once you buy their "razor", you have little choice in some cases but to buy their "blades" at...

    Placement of 730 D decals

If you do not care that the decals are old and could be defective, I would not be too concerned about where they go. Best place to look is in the JD service or parts manuals. They have black and white shots of the actual models. One thing to note, the decal placement back then was not a science...

    CA Front Wheel Wobble

I have a narrow front CA that leaks fluid from the steering pedistal and the front wheels wobble some. I'm thinking bearings and seals. Anything else? Good source for parts? Thanks.
