Stay away from mets. They totally ruined an engine block of mine because of very poor machine work.

    Oliver 77 in the 3500

My 77 that I want to use is a 51 model. I was told that 48 to 52 models were all the same weight wise.

    Oliver 77 in the 3500

How difficult is it to get a 77 in the 3500 class with 14.9 x 38 tires and a 200 lb driver? Will also need 150 lb movable weight. Bare tractor not to exceed 3150 lbs. Did Oliver make a non-live type of PTO so the clutch unit can be removed for weight reasons, but still have a working PTO for...

    Berry cams

The new guy has been running the shop for about 9 months he told me a month or so ago. He said he had worked a short while with Scott Berry before taking over the business.

    Berry cams

Berry Cams used to be one of the best, maybe the best place to get a cam ground. Now the Berry family is not operating the shop, someone else has taken over that has almost no cam grinding experience. The cams from there are way off sometimes now. The last one I got for a Moline was off by...

    Allis clutch

Really nice clutch setup, I was thinking about adapting a 7.25" stock car clutch, but I like your setup better. If you are turning 5000+ RPM I am suprised that the flywheel is still in one piece.

    an interesting project

Really good stuff to see! I tried to do some similar port modifications to a JD "B" a few years ago. I was trying to get enough air in & out of the engine to compete in 10 mph 3500 & 4000 open classes. I finally decided that an old B was just too far behind in the start and I didn't have...

    an interesting project

Outstanding work! Very interesting to me. There was a guy around here in OH that built a few Minnie engines a few years ago that did some similar port work. He called it "tubing" a head. He bored the port out, then pressed in a large oversize copper tube back to the bowls to make a new port...

    moline U engine question

Wendell Everett has the pistons you need. You can use U rods but will have to grind the crank journals down to fit. 6" crank is 2.75" 5" crank is 2.57"

    Dennys stroker kit

The cranks are made by HAPCO Rebuilders in Terra Haute. IN. Just contact them and get the same crank without a markup. You will need a crank core for them to stroke. You can easily put together the rest of the kit pieces yourself much cheaper.

    Allis WC stroker question

A 5"-5.5" stroke is easy. Your WC block is fine for this application. You only need to use Gleaner blocks for max effort engines. Use a Farmall H rod and pick a flat top piston that gets to the right compression height. You want the piston down in the cyl .4" to .5" at TDC. 400 chevy...

    Roller chain speed

Thanks for the ideas, but I don't think a chain will work, I probably need to look at a toothed belt. I need a 4" dia. sprocket on the motor, so that means roughly 1725 FPM chain speed. Probably too much.

    Roller chain speed

How fast in FPM or sprocket speed can a #40 roller chain be ran? At roughly what speed does the fricton of the chain become a problem? I am wanting to use a chain on a 1725 RPM electric motor. It will be well oiled. Will it work, or is that too fast for a chain? Thanks in advance.

    Boxing in the rods

I am wanting to "box" a set of Farmall M rods to be used in a big bore Moline engine. I don't think the M rods are strong enough as they are, so I am wanting to weld a strip of some kind of high strength steel up each open side of the rod to make it stiffer without adding too much weight. Has...
