    1755 Loader Tractor

Just bought a 1755 with Hiniker cab and Westendorf loader. Assumed it was big enough to use as a chore tractor for haying and such this winter. Now I'm kind of doubting whether this tractor should move big round bales with the loader. Are 11L-15 tires heavy enough? Is the wide front axle...

    70 Rockshaft won't lower

Issue solved. Got ahold of Gary from macfabrications.com, wonderful guy, found out that I just wasn't screwing the throttling valve in far enough. Due to the load being in the air it took more force to defeat the check spring. I&T book said not to bottom out the valve is the reason I...

    70 Rockshaft won't lower

The metering screw is on the left for the raise, throttling screw is on the bottom for fast lower. Book says to adjust this with a load on. Everything was working ok until I replaced this screw and washer/gasket. Even tried to put the old one back in an no change. (The screw is a 1.5 inch...

    70 Rockshaft won't lower

Still needing help here guys. I have a plow Hanging in the air and don't know how to lower it. From what I read gravity is supposed to take it down. Up will draw the motor down- down doesn't seem to effect anything. What is associated with this throttling valve that it may not allow 3 point...

    70 Rockshaft won't lower

Trying to get this 70 set up to pull a mounted plow, put on a Titan 3 point and figured out some chains to regulate depth control. Now the problem is now that I'm trying to adjust the throttling valve I think I bottomed it out (not reading all of the notes that says not too). Now what? I ran...

813 plow need dimensions for gage wheel

Thank you for all the responses! Now I need to line some things up. I like the idea of using chains to make sure the tractor has the weight. When I was plowing the garden 12 inches deep I know I have enough power not traction. Although the gage wheel would be handier without having to adjust...

813 plow need dimensions for gage wheel

How much down force do you suppose this would make? Just to get an idea on what size chain a guy should use. I have an idea.....

813 plow need dimensions for gage wheel

Trying to use a 70 John Deere on an 813 plow. I have an aftermarket (Titan) 3 point on the tractor and it allows the plow to go deep. The plow has the bracket for a gage wheel but is currently just used for a kick stand. If someone has some dimensions for me I'd make one myself maybe with a...

Using a 70 john deere for post digging chores.

That's what I'm looking for. No it doesn't force down. May need to make sure teeth are sharp.

Using a 70 john deere for post digging chores.

Looking for information on doing this. Is it advisable? The 70 doesn't get used much and I'd like to leave the other tractors alone and not tie them up with a digger. What can you tell me about doing it this way.

powershaft oil-prior owner used 90w, what now?

Sorry guys it's a 1954 70 John Deere. He put new clutch disks in the pto and instead of using 10w oil, put 90w in. From what I've read that ruins the disks. Is this true and can I just use hydraulic oil instead of 10w?

powershaft oil-prior owner used 90w, what now?

The prior owner rebuilt the powershaft and put 90wt in it. I don't believe it got used much because the oil was fairly clear. I drained and put hydraulic oil in and ran it a while to warm up and drained again. I was thinking of putting hydraulic oil back in but is the clutch pack ruined now...

    70 JD Thermostat

The old tractor doesn"t seem to have a thermostat. Pulling a 3-14 plow last fall it barely hit 150 all day. I see there should be 2 on here by the parts book. Are they both necessary? What temp should I get for the gasser? Where is the best place to find them? I seen one for around $176 on a...
