    DRILLING VS. ROW PLANTING

    We have a JD 7100 set on 30's but my partner just came home with an JD 8100. It's only got single disk opener but is in great shape and we kind of wanted to play with his new toy but have never drilled beans before.

    I remember on the old diamond shaped tool bar RG cultivators you took the middle plow off the rig and only ran two shovels to set spacing for 30 inch rows but can't remember what size sweeps to use

    Is ther a "rule of thumb" for the amount of horse power needed per shank of a chisel plow. Was always told 7 hp per ft for a disk but have never heard on a chisel plow.

    CUTTING CORN WITH A BEAN HEAD

    I"ve been told you can cut corn with a bean head. We are wanting to put up 20 acers of corn this year but story as old as time poor folks got poor ways and the only head we have for our JD 95 is a 13 ft reel type. Any inpu or advice would be great.

    CORN HEAD FOR JD 95

    That tells the story right there I do have the drum with spikes below the feederhouse chain so I would need to have a intermediate feederhouse to mount a 40 series corn head. Thanks to both you guys this message both is the best source of information i've found in quite a while.

    I know I don't have the L bracket but I still can't tell about the feeder house without taking my header off. It sure is true a picture is worth a thousand words.

    Ok I may have to back up a little here. My hydraulic hoses on my header have couplers. What else would I look for to determin weather or not it has a quick atatch feeder house?

    I don't believe it has the quick attatch opption. As far back as anyone can remember it has only had the bean head on it. Where would be the best place to start looking for one of these heads? 3 row on 30 inch would be ideal but got a feeling these may be hard to find especially in the Arkansas...

    WANTING A CORN HEAD FOR MY 1968 JD 95. NOT SURE WHAT MODELS TO BE LOOKING FOR. WAS TOLD THESE HEADS CAME WITH THE FEEDER HOUSE ATTATCHED. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECITATED.
