Did you consider doing it all in excel? I have used Excel to do a ton of things that quickbooks is too complex for. 850 not holding charge?
This sounds like the battery cables need to be cleaned up on the starter selenoid and at the starter. Could be a bad connection in the starter. Sounds like the charging system is working fine. I got new battery cables, new battery, and I cleaned all the connections on the generator and... -

Thanks Soundguy Like I mentioned, I think it has a generator. Maybe original? It looks just like what I've seen in pictures. The unit has three posts (three wire). I have a manual for the tractor but the picture is very dark so I cant tell which post is which to try jumping and testing... -

OT - pole barn
I"ve been clearing a lot of woods on my lot on NH and wonder if its reasonable to make a small(ish) pole barn to cover my tractor and other misc equipment? I would dig holes 4 feet deep or so but should I worry about bugs or pole rot? I think maybe I could coat the part of the pole in the dirt...- Belcain

Short run times

Update: Ford 850 wont crank
With some help and courage from this forum I got the old 850 to crank again. I did a lot of things all at once so not sure what the real culprit was. I took the battery out and put it on my charger. It read 0% charge so that would explain it, BUT - several hours later it was charged and held... -

With no warning signs, my tractor wont crank. I have a 1955 Ford 850 (gas)with a 12volt system. I can hear the solenoid click when I push the starter button but thats all. No humming or vibration on the starter motor, no other signs of life. I just got the tractor about two weeks ago or so and... -
