    Brakes / Hyd screen on 2040 John Deere

    Having problems with lower tranny screen stopping up with fine chewed up red fiber material. Pump sounds as if it want"s to come out and play. love the wet breakes but what happened to my pad"s--- wrong fluid, wore out or just time to replace. Can"t replace fluid and clean screen every day...

    Gentlemen: Have a 1976 2040-A John Deere tractor. Lately when it leans to the right side the pump will not lift the lift, and a hard squeal comes from under the seat area. when the tractor levels out the lift works fine. It does not do this when the tractor is leaning to the left. Have checked...

    Thanks, pg14vt You are probably right on the granddad part. the 820 has a larger pump. or the one's I have seen do. But to park them side by side they are very much alike. Big D

    Thanks, Buickanddeere It was made for the state"s or this is what they tell me. thats why it has the S behind the ser.# I will look into the 240 loader. I like the self leveling idea. Big D

    Gentlemen. Have a 2040-S John Deere. Looking for a loader to fit this unit. Have been told that the 820 JD is the sister to this tractor. and if this is true then a # 145 loader should bolt right up to this unit. Is this correct or not. BigD
