    Ferguson F40 (diesel)

Good morning. What on earth possessed you to offend me so on this Monday morning ? Before I leave that subject, I want you to tell me with figures, how many seconds, minutes, hours, days or years do you have to crank a Mercedes Benz 300 Turbo diesel without the glow plugs attached before it...

    Ferguson F40 (diesel)

Hello tractorbuddies. I have become so fascinated with the Ferguson F40 tractor and started wondering, I mean, from what I can see, it was only sold with a Continental Z-134 gas engine, but the TO 35 was also sold with the Standard 23C engine. Has anyone ever seen or tried to put a 23C...

    Re: Tractor identification

Sorry, I did not realize this was related to the other post about the trottle pedal.

    Tractor identification

If my memory is not entirely out in the boonies, I think when the trottle pedal was new, it said ACC on the middle one as you can see, and FWD on the right one, and REV on the left one. That has obviously been worn off. Bill

    Tractor identification

Middle one only increase engine speed without the tractor going forward or backwards.

Definitive way to determine gas or diesel?

Old thread, but in the old days, if you were in Europe, and saw an old MF, pre 1965, if it had vertical exhaust on the left side it was a Perkins diesel, could see that from 100 yards away or whatever eyesight people had. If it was on the right side, it could be either or. And all of the old...

    Backhoe Problems

This message is a reply to an archived post by Loren Smith on September 06, 2010 at 08:16:59. The original subject was "Backhoe Problems". well, a very old thread, but if for some reason someone still read it, it would be a very good idea to connect a pressure gauge to the pressure line between...

    MF 65

Hello Ed. If the injectors are vertical, the engine is an indirect injection engine, and if they are slanted, it is a direct injected engine. In addition, the indirect injected engines have a triangular cover over the pre-chambers, which is located in between the exhaust ports on the head...

    MF 65

When it comes to UK built MF 65, the 192 engine had the 2-piece oil pan with the wedge in the rear end. Then, in 1960 they changed to the 203 engine which had a 1-piece oil pan. So, as long as the tractor is UK built, this is as far as I know enough to determine if it has a 192 or a 203 engine...

    massey I-244 military tractor

Howdy David. Didn't they use a lot of MF 50 industrial with a thick steel plate under for weight for airport tugs ? I have read that the MF 50 with the converter transmission had a 150 ton pulling capacity in 1st. low and full trottle. Bill

    Wrong answer.

I discovered something interesting today. I was using my computer and instead of opening the shop manual I typed in Perkins 4.300 specifications and found this link. https://www.justanswer.com/heavy-equipment/5njne-hi-i-nb-4-300-engine-could-please-supply.html I have no idea what a NB 4.300...

    First 8N

Hi, I thought 9 in 9N stood for the year it first came out, 1939, and 2N for 1942. And, for the 8N I thought it was in 1948. But, I see in one forum on Facebook two people claim they have a 1947 Ford 8N... so, now I am very curious what people in here have to say about this. Thanks in...

massey ferguson front pivot area worn now what

No, the TO 35 and the MF 65 are very different in the front end. Your TO 30 would be more like the Grey Ferguson, the TO 20 and TO 30, and later MF 35. While the 65 is more like the MF 165 and up.
