    The clutch is mechanical, but it is a diaphragm clutch so there isn’t really any adjustment. The free travel is at 1 inch. I have tried less and more, but really no change.

    Tractor has single stage clutch with independent PTO. Also, all of the 30 and 40 series that I have are collar shift and do not shift this hard.

    Right stick is the gear selection and the left is the range/reverse selection. Starting with both in neutral, the right stick is smooth with no grind. Left stick then grinds. Starting with both in neutral, the left stick will grind and then the right stick will grind.

    I ended up buying a new one from Deere…. Cost a ton but works like a champ now. Was costly, but was very simple to fix. Rebuilt the clutch pack as well while I was there.

    JD 1020 Bell Crank “press in” Pin Replacement

    I dug into the 1020 yesterday afternoon and got lucky. The original bell crank looked fantastic so I just replaced all of the bushing and put it all back together. Everything is tight and drives like a brand new tractor. Thanks for the help!

    1982 MF 245 with Square Headlights - Needs a Grill

    Now that's funny right there lol. I think the plan right now is to try a grill from a 231s. They had the square headlights as well. If it works, I'll let everyone know.
