OT Testing outboard stator and power pack

Anyone know how to test or if there is a way to test the stator assembly and power pack on a 1998 25 hp Mariner motor? Been replaced and motor is now running but I think the power pack is probably good...Kinda last minute my Dad spotted a loose connection and pointed it out to the...

John Deere 5603 Oil Drain Plug

Sorry for a dumb question...any idea what size hex drive would be used for the drain plug of a 2007 John Deere 5603? It is a 99hp tractor.

JD 4440 Overhaul

Not sure. I was thinking it is a rod knocking. I am just wandering how much it could be.

JD 4440 Overhaul

I have a John Deere 4440 with a rod knocking. It is used daily and just started this. Other than this it is in good shape...ha! Anyone have an idea how much the repair cost will be on this? Thanks

Ford 641 Carb...help!

I have 641. I can let the tractor sit for a day and try to start it and it will run for about 30 seconds...only if I keep it choked. I took off the carb and cleaned it and reinstalled it. It will run if I keep my hand over the breather hose...which I am assuming is making it suck more gas in...

Ford 601 Oil Drain Plug

I have tried all the suggestions. The head is so rounded I cannot grab it. I don"t know what to do now.

I am having a terrible time getting the oil drain plug loose. The bolt has been rounded over the years. Does it have left or right hand threads? Thanks

Ford 601 Smoking

I have a Ford 601 Workmaster. I used the tractor back in October and everything was fine. It set in the barn until this last weekend when I needed it. I put some gas in it and finally got is started but it smokes BAD! It has never smoke like this before. I have let it idle about 20 minutes...
