    Allis L-12 Loader Seals

Hello all, I don't usually spend much time down here in the Allis forum but I picked up an Allis B112 garden tractor with an L-12 loader mounted to it a few years ago. It's a great little machine, very handy and nimble to get in spaces where big loaders can't get. The left side lift cylinder...

    2026 Case Calendars

I also received a calendar and am very impressed. This is my first one, but certainly not the last! The pictures are all really high quality, I especially like the January photo. Thank you very much for making these calendars. I am excited to hang mine up, and hopefully send in an entry for next...

    The 800 Runs!

Hello all, I got the 800 diesel tractor to run! The engine overhaul is performing well. Engine is very smooth, starts easy, and has lots of power. Running it for a while has freed up the governor and the Case-o-Matic drive works very well in all gears in both direct and converter drive. Stays...

Another thread on 800 Diesel heads

Thank you very much Jon. My condolences to the fellow. I can't say wether or not it was hard starting, but it did have 1 1/4'' sleeves and pistons instead of the factory 1 1/8". Could this increase in displacement make up for the volume added to cylinder by the recessed valve? Just thinking...

Another thread on 800 Diesel heads

Hello all, Finally had some time to return to the Case 800 diesel that I am in the process of overhauling. Today I pulled a sticky intake valve and found this under the valve. The valve was just sticky from old oil that had solidified on the valve stem, guide and valve looked pretty good. I was...

Head and pan gasket for 800

Thanks for all the advice. I suppose I ought to start looking for a shop… I can make progress on the engine in other ways for now. Kinda hard to believe that someone would grind enough off to drop the valve 3/16” - I wonder if it was multiple valve jobs or if someone got real grinder happy.

Head and pan gasket for 800

Oofta. My math must have been off. What do you recommend that I do? Is it possible to save the heads or are they junk? How much do you think the job would cost to raise the valves back into spec? Not very many machine shops in my area. If anyone has any recommendations for shops in northern MN...

Head and pan gasket for 800

Thanks for the info. The exhaust valves are on the nose 1 1/18”. The intakes on the other hand are about 3/16” recessed - if my math is right, that’s about 3 3/4 pounds of compression lost on each cylinder. Please forgive my ignorance, but is that much enough to drastically change the...

Head and pan gasket for 800

Hello all. Making some progress on an 800 diesel I’ve been working on for a while. Two questions: first, any tips or tricks for sealing the oil pan gasket? Should I use use permatex with the gasket or just the cork gasket? I’d really rather it not leak, but the mating surface on the bottom of...

    Fixing a Pitted Lower bore

Thank you for all of your replies. I think I will try what Jim suggested with the permatex. I will keep you updated on how that turns out. I’m sure I’ll be back here with more questions later on! Thanks once again.

    Fixing a Pitted Lower bore

Hello All. I’m working on a 1959 Case 800 diesel tractor with the 267 diesel block. I am in the process of an out of frame rebuild and am looking at installing new sleeves. I pulled the old ones out (completely toast) and the bores where the lower o-rings seal are fairly pitted. I’ll attach a...

    267 Diesel Liner Seals

Thanks for the reply. I did clean them up and they look better, but in a couple spots they are pitted and feel rough. I’ll attach another photo, I think this is the worst spot. Is there some product that could be used in conjunction with the o-ring to make sure it seals? I’d really rather not...

    267 Diesel Liner Seals

Hello all. Finally got a snowy day this winter and have time to work on my Case 800. I received the block back from a shop who boiled and painted it for me. I’m getting ready to install new wet sleeves, but I got to looking at the lower sealing surfaces on the block and they are … rough. I’ll...

    800 Sleeve Protrusion

Hello all. Currently in the process of rebuilding a 1959 Case 800 Diesel. I have the block back from the shop now and am going to install piston sleeves. I have the full shop/service manual for the model, but I cannot find anywhere what the proper sleeve protrusion is. Is there a specific spec...
