    might be a bit late to reply but just seen this thread,it looks like a lely Gemini tedder we had a 3pt linkage mounted one,never saw one quite like that one.

    transmission would be the big thing with these if it has been abused or needs parts then you will have probs,parts for the trans can be very hard to find, you could try dbtc.co.uk should be lots of info on the hydrashift trans there. hope this helps tom

    a 990 crank wont work 4"stroke 4/49 engine, a 995/6 1200/10/12 crank will fit same engine as the 1210 4.5"stroke 4/55 engine. hope this helps tom

    would just cut through the seal with a hacksaw or a hacksaw blade you will have to replace the seal anyway case should have them, atleast with the pump off it should be easier get the stud out

    hi oliver i normally use grease around the front axle where it the manual suggests sae 140,tried using 140 oil in a grease gun had no probs going thru the gun its thick enough to be liquid grease. tom

    the front axle carrier frame is the same on both models hence 995/6,really nice david brown though you wouldnt see as nice a one here they are well rusted by now.

    hi dave the 995 has the same clutch as a 990 which disengages the the pto disc using the clutch pedal,the 996 has the same clutch as 1200/10/and some 1212 which uses a hand lever for stopping the drive to engage/disengage the pto,the 996 is longer because of the clutch.engines are identical on...

    sounds like its the powersteering oil seal that maybe has got cut or damaged in some way shouldnt be too hard to fix,im not sure if you will have to dismantle the pump to get the seal out.hope this helps, tom

    hi tony the hydraulic pump is seperate from the power steering,i think the hyd lift not working could be the pump has lost drive this pump is under the radiator the drive shaft and couplings are a common failure on the models with external hyd pumps i seen a topic on dbtc.com about this seems...

    hi charlie the serial no is on a plate near the seat not sure if its on the front or back it may be above the lift levers when i think of it maybe its gone there may be also a serial no just forward of the timing case on the casting that carries the front axle on the right side the starter...

    hi steve its a david brown design and built in david browns factory in meltham yorkshire they were under case ownership at the time,some of the 6 cyl engines had problems with the engine oil pump gears failing,it was put down to either what the gears were made of or the gears were'nt hardened...

    hi cuttman 1000 hours is very low,a 1410 is about 90 hp give of take a few hp, a 1410 not being hydrashift the trans is a lot simpler,they have wet brakes better than the brakes than 1210/12 and other smaller ones.hope this helps. tom

    hi todd that serial number does'nt sound right the first 995 were from 71 to 76 serial number went from 920001 to 936004, later 995 76 to 1980 11070001 to 11106274, it is stamped on the flat part of the casting that carries the front axle on the same side as the starter motor behind the radiator...
