    axle bearing

    my 1952 8n has a sqeak coming from the right rear axle. is it time to replace the bearings? the big nut on the axle is welded on and a space is widening between the big nut and the hub. whats it going to take to fix it?...new axle?bearing? seals? - thanks cjm

    i got the 8n hot last weekend moving some tall weeds. the radiator got blocked. i cleaned it out and kept on moving. she got hot again for the same reason. question is, can you do any damage to the engine as long as there is coolant in the radiator and the coolant is circulating. after the...

    ford 4000 hp

    what is the horse power of a 1962 ford 4000 with a 4 cylinder gas engine? external_link says 55 hp, but i've seen them advertised on-line, anywhere from 39hp to 55hp. i'm thinking about getting one to help my 8n keep up the ranch. - thanks cjm

    the owner either doesn't know what tractor he has or he wants me to drive 100 miles round trip to try out a sales patch on me. i think i'll call him again with the info you folks have given me, might save me about 15 bucks in gas. - thanks for the help - cjm

    thanks for the info. i have a line on a 4000 that the owner say's has live pto and is a 4 speed, 4 cylinder. i have not seen the tractor yet, but would not be interested in it if it doesn't have live pto. - cjm

    thanks, that info helps alot. i also found out the tractor has been rolled. that's why the steering box needs work. don't not what other damage was done. hope to see it on sunday. - cjm

    Steering wheel wrap???

    i wrapped mine with hemp rope. use a small diameter rope. wet it first, then wrap it tight. it's lasted two years with no sign of ware. and its cheap too. - cjm
