    How often are you supposed to change the tranny fluid in the tractor?

    Breaker plate

    I have an 1941 9N tractor that is 12v. I have replaced my breaker plate twice in the last year. I know the new one are from china nad don"t last long but come on here. 2 in the last six months. Any other issues I need to be looking for.

    Starting issue

    Got 9n running after several months of being down. was running fine and was ready to use for snow removal. Tractor would start fine and the week it got down to 7 degrees it hasn"t started since. Have fuel to and thru carb, have good spark but when I try to start it just cranks and gets flooded...

    spark plug gap

    I just replaced spark plugs in my 9n. Autolite 437 is what I installed. Could not find any info as far as gap settings.

    governor question

    I am guessing that the orange bell looking thing is the governor. If it gets clogged will your tractor have trouble starting? Just trying to figure this this tractor out. 41 9N with 12v.

    leveling chains?

    I would like to know if anyone has ever used chains to set the height on blade for snow removal? I don"t thin your supposed to use chains when using blade, are you?

    Tractor lives

    After all the previous posts and comments. My tractor is now running. Need to fix a small fuel leak and she will be as good as new. Replaced breaker plate in distributor to get spark and put in an in line fuel shutoff.

    What is the purpose of the brown plastic disc the covers points? I know that it keeps out dirt and moisture, but what other purpose does it serve? Just asking

    I have a 1941 9N that has been converted to 12v. I had posted issues earlier in the year and now that the weather is warm I am going to take another stab at it. Tractor has not ran since late April. Tractor just won"t start. I have an original ballast resistor. Have already replaced coil, plugs...

    I live in the Silex area. Does anyone live near by close that would like to help me with my tractor. I have done everything I know and it is getting fuel and spark but will not start. It turns over but will not start. I am lost.

    Amp draw on tractor?

    If I am correct. If I ohm out the ignition switch with it turned off I should get OL on my meter and if I turn key on it should read anything but OL. I will check switch tomorrow and also ohm out coil. When I bought coil it read 3.0 ohms. If it reads lower then it is bad right?
