Get clicking sound instead of starting

I just went through the exact same symptoms on my TO-35 ... for the first couple times I was able to tap the starter selenoid or starter with a hammer and get it to pop off and start, until one day it did nothing but CLICK. I did all the wire check and cleaning etc...then replaced the starter...

    timing

I may check it just for giggles (do have a professional light), but I just had to pull the distributor a couple of times, till I hit it... tuned it in and seems to be running great...set of new plugs didn't hurt anything either. Thanks, Now comes the big challenge, getting the 3 point working...

    timing

I have read some entries from the forum about timing and having experience from cars (we could actually work on) ... but I am curious as to where the timing marks are on my TO-35, I can not seem to locate them on the belt pulley and there is no harmonic balancer. Also, I see no pointer....so...

    3 point won't lift

sorry, yep a TO35 I do use the round knobbed lift, I played with the levers before any load on 3 point to understand how they worked, and they are very similar to the ford 8n which I learned on as a child....lol I have emailed you and yes, any and all information would be appreciated...

    Power take off

On my TO-35 I have of course a power take off which runs my mower and post auger... My question is this: There is a selection shifter lever on the side of the case which is either up, middle or down for the power take off, is this selector switch suppose to change the power take off direction...

    3 point won't lift

Well now the starter is off being rebuilt I will pose another question. My 3 point lift does not do as well as I think it should, first it settles badly. If left in up postion and tractor shut off, 3 point will lower itself within seconds, you can see it move. Secondly, after drilling a post...

    VOLTAGE (starter)

Found a shop... actually pretty local, I was surprised. Not sure of the problem yet, but he also bench tested and agreed, there is a problem, LOL. Will update when something more is known. Thanks.

    VOLTAGE (starter)

Yes, I bench tested, making sure of good ground. used both my large charger and a good battery, but neither would run the starter. I am of the mind as you mentioned the post is not making contact. However am not sure why the post would be separated other then use I have not moved the cable on...

    VOLTAGE (starter)

OK, the starter is out and does not work. how do I know if it is a 12 volt starter (it is a 12 volt system) or a 6 volt. it is a-- 'Delco Remy / 1107852 / 8 B 25' this is the only information on the starter. anyone have an outlet for a new starter?

    starter removable

YAY! SUCCESS! The high tech tools required to finish this project...36" pry bar, and 16oz hammer....LOL after a few hours of sanding both the bore and the cone of all rust and corrosion, a LOT of cussing (as recommended earlier) prying and tapping firmly, if finally cleared the dristributor...
