    Thanks for the reply, Nicely done. I can fashion something like that, but will need to insulate it from the plate. The reason I ask is it looks like there is nothing to isolate the copper strip and the condenser wire from the body of the distributor plate. Thanks again, Dave

    Hello, While giving the 8n a tune up, the copper strap in the distributor finally broke off. Question is, can that be repaired/replaced, or is there an insulator that isolates it from the condenser? Thanks, Dave

    I believe the brakes on my 416 need to be replaced. The question is; is it something that would require special tools and skill to do. They are the wet brake system. One side makes a groaning sound when stopping. Thank you, Dave

    The reason I ask, bought one that had been sitting for a few years, run ok but the shifter feels as if it is locked. Also the pto does not disengage. I have the book but thought I would ask here before really digging into it. Thank you for the replies

    Let me clarify: I removed the entire shifter assembly from the dash, but did not actually disconnect the cable. I removed the cable sleeve to check for rust and found none. I was able to get the shifter to move freely, and it seems that what ever is preventing the cable from moving freely is...

    Picked up a no running 800 series with a sos transmission. Tractor is running and the hydraulics work, pto spins and the 3 point works as well. Checked the trans oil level and that is ok although the oil needs to be changed (it's milky). The shifter will not budge. Removed the shifter from the...
