    carb question on usx20

    is there a check ball for the fuel pump in the carb? I have a tractor burning 7 gallons an hr. I am looking for a source where the fuel is getting thru the carb. Also is there a retaining clip to hold the float pivot pin in place? Thanks for the help.

    what was the difference between the the black diamond and the green diamond engine. I am looking for a intake manifold for a bd 220 and found one for a green diamond,looks the same in the picture, but will it fit? thanks for any help

    B steering to tight

    yes with front end up wheels turn smooth as silk,Put a load on and its tight here and there. I think we may have created to many variations in tooth fit when we ground the top gear. But why would it change so much loaded versus unloaded? Could there be a problem with the thrust bearing area...

    look close at the block where the o-rings go. We just did one (gas) we had an outfit in Iowa weld it up. They did a great job,and reinforced the blocks week points as well.     4430 overhaul done

    I finished the overhaul on the 4430 and she runs great. I posted the other day on the way the 4630 or 4430 start up, I received good post's on what is going on in the pump that makes these tractors start different. Can the pump be rebuilt on this 4430 so it start's right up like the 4960? Maybe...

    B mag question

    Got a B with a mag (WICO)with no kill wire. What was JD's plan for shut down? We have choked it, but when its cold she like's that, we have also popped the clutch. There is no wire or a hole for the wire in the mag housing. Any thoughts?

    one scv is not holding the load, its not the cylinder. So i think we are looking at the seats on the poppets. I had them out and noticed the seats had a rust color to them. After reading the service manual and some past archives it appears we may need seats ground on the poppets. Any advice...

    JD 4020 HAS BLUE SMOKE

    blue smoke is oil burning. Some ideas would include, valve guides and seals, piston rings, breather plugged, over full on oil, wrong oil, diluted oil. Good luck

    Well i tried the shut off cable idea today, its about 45 degrees out. Lets just say she did not like that at all. I have never heard it start that bad, It was stuck running on maybe two cylinders and would not fire any more. I gave it a whiff and she woke right up.I think if I would have left...
