    I would use heat shrink with the internal adhesive. Use one size to big, slice it length way, put it on the wire, let it wrap around itself, heat it slowly and it will seal to itself and the wire. Plus the adhesive seals out water and oil. You can buy it pre-made its called wrap around heat...

    On my PT7, where the angle iron is welded on in your first picture, mine is threaded rod for adjustment. Mine broke where the ujoint carrier and rod connect.

    Could be. I should have said the "blades?" are supposed to be flat. They are bent over, but can be rotated (good on the other side). Thinking more like an aerator.
