    Wire insulation repair

    I would use heat shrink with the internal adhesive. Use one size to big, slice it length way, put it on the wire, let it wrap around itself, heat it slowly and it will seal to itself and the wire. Plus the adhesive seals out water and oil. You can buy it pre-made its called wrap around heat...

    On my PT7, where the angle iron is welded on in your first picture, mine is threaded rod for adjustment. Mine broke where the ujoint carrier and rod connect.

    Why not tear it down to see what's wrong with it? May just need a rod. And just so you know that is a P series, it should have a 43 series.

    If you still need help, I would start by starting the engine and pulling one of the plug wires, reinstalling it and then pull the other one. Find out which side is causing the trouble. I had problem similar to what you described and the problem was the bottom of the coil was melted, running...

    Need help identifying

    Could be. I should have said the "blades?" are supposed to be flat. They are bent over, but can be rotated (good on the other side). Thinking more like an aerator.
