    Hard starting 4020 diesel

    I got two 12 volt battery 800 900 cca in my. Gear reduction starter, 2/0 welding cable, copper battery terminal for 10- 15 year haven't had a problem yet. Battery are 800 900 cca each.

    Today after driving thru gate I left it idling while closing gate, got back on put in fifth gear went i release clutch tractor rpm went up like I pull throttle down but I never touch throttle. Thanks

    I put generator pulley on alternator, both have the same I d. Now I have 1/4 inche clearance between fan and pulley. Thanks

    Changed 4020 from 24 to 12 volt.used 3 wire delco alternator.problem I got is fan blade hit the alternator shaft. Alternator has one belt pulley but is not a sheetmetal pulley, it look like a machined pulley. Thanks

    Found on goggle the starter was used 1939 -1944 farmall a b I only seen one braze or bronze it was on drive end. I measure bore on brush plate had about 6 thousand between shaft and bore first one I've seen with one bushing
