8N hydraulic dipstick says full after only 2-1/2 gallons

[color=darkblue:a8acf9c210]My 9N had the trans and engine dipsticks swapped, when I first got mine. They are NOT the same. My trans was low, but the engine was way overfilled![/color:a8acf9c210]

    Another opportunity to become a case owner - 2590 & 4890

Hey all, Got a 2590 and 4890 coming up on a consignment sale. I personally know the seller and have driven both tractors in the past (only to move them if they were in the way for field work). I think they'll both be pretty affordable. The 4890 had a complete engine rebuild 900 hours ago...

    front mount distributer

The advance weight springs should be the same length, and there are 2 on each side. I just replaced my advance weight assembly, when I noticed the main/heavy spring was broken about halfway up. There is also a nice electronic ignition available to replace the points. Way cheaper than a whole...

    2N front tires

I just did that to my 9N. I bought used 8N hubs and wheels. They fit the same spindles and use the same bearings. I then bought 6.00 - 16 rib tires for it. Looks MUCH better and was real easy! Gary

    Another New (to me 9N)

Since this will be a working tractor and sitting out (under a tarp or other minimal shelter), I didn't feel a "restoration" was in order. I used Valspar MF grey from TSC and painted the hood and fenders witha small roller and the rest with a brush. I'm curious myself to see how long it lasts...

    Pulley update

160 is the standard, available everywhere. it takes several gallons (3?) but the tip is to only fill just above the core.

    Another New (to me 9N)

I picked up a 9N from my best friend. Here is a pic of it "as arrived": After "a bit of work", here it is now: New rear wheels (baaadly rusted from ballast use, new front (8N style) wheels and tires (thanks John), 12 volt conversion, axle seals and brake cleanup... you know - the...

Wow! Those gears were really chewed up. A little rusty too. What kind of gear lube had you been using?
