    VAC Governor Oil Supply

Thanks for the reply; I am aware of the later design and had already been looking for that. Your reply stated "the hole in the gear lubes the governor", which is what I thought, but as my post stated, there is no hole in this gear - it just goes about a 1/4 into the gear and is not drilled all...

    VAC Governor Oil Supply

I need some help - I have a '44 VAC that sometimes runs erratically. I suspect a problem with the governor, so we opened it up and found the (earlier flyball type) governor had worn parts and was dry. It appears to not have been receiving oil. I believe oil is supposed to be supplied through...

    27 Foot Case Combine Header - 1950

These were sold to three separate family farmers, all in Wood County (just South of Toledo) in Northwest Ohio. It sure would be nice to have one of them today. Parts just might be a little hard to find though . . .

    27 Foot Case Combine Header - 1950

Well, ok - it did take THREE combines to get 27 feet in 1950! This photo was taken in August 1950 by my father. These are three brand-new SP9 combines at Henry Brothers Case dealership in Perrysburg Ohio ready for delivery to customers. I have a memory of taking a ride with my Dad on an SP9 in...

VO Running Only at Idle Speed

I just acquired a '41 VO that was not running. I got the valves free (5 were stuck), new plugs and wires, magneto timed (previous owner took it off and didn't know how to put back). It will now start and run nicely at an idle, but coughs and dies when I attempt to throttle it up. I suspect...

Did I burn up my Case-O-Matic??

Differential lock was an option - if yours has it, there will be a foot lever on the right-hand side toward the back of the platform (operated by heel of right foot). Those setscrews are a bit of a pain to find and remove - takes two people, one to feel or watch for the screw while the other...

Did I burn up my Case-O-Matic??

I believe the current recommendation for fluid is TCH or equivalent from Case; I know there are different types and weights of hyraulic oil. There are cartridge filters to change on the COM/Hyrdraulic system (not positive about yours; my '65 530 and earlier 630 have one near the filler port and...

    vac serial number

I don't believe the number is anywhere else on a VAC. It is on a casting on S and D series, but not VA series according to the information I have. The engine has a number, but that is separate from the tractor (VA engines were used on some equipment also). Sorry.

    vac400-S.C.R.A.P. show

I saw some of the auction - the 930 LPG went for 2,000 I think, the LA about 900, the RC I think was 650 (that had a number of weld jobs on it by the way), one of the VAC's (a 49 I think that was not running) went for only 350. Don't know about the SC, newer Eagle hitch VAC. Some tractors...

    case 530ck oil spec?

Scott - If it is a Case-O-Matic, that fluid should be checked with the tractor warmed up, and running at an idle. Those tractors do typically grind gears when engaging - you should have the engine idled down when engaging the transmission. Regarding the oils, I believe the COM and Hydraulics...

    Decal Question

I have a question on originality of Case Flambeau model decals ("VAC", "DC", "SC"), etc. I am under the impression that Case only used those on the later year tractors; I have seen what looks like factory photos of early years without the model decals but later years with them. Specifically...

    show the Case CC

We plan to be at S.C.R.A.P. also. Just finished restoring a '44 VAC and '50 DC, and also plan to take a 400, SC, 530, and 630. Plus a couple of old dealership delivery trucks too. It sounds like it should be a pretty good showing this year.

Hey Don; Here's another dealer name.

Very interesting brochure to me - I am a member of the Henry family, and live on the family farm and first location of the dealership (originally "Henry Brothers"). I just talked with the son of Clide Keppler, the customer it was originally sent to. We are interested in knowing when and how...

Hydraulic cylinder question on Case loader

I just acquired a 1965 Case 530 with an original Case loader (model 190 I believe). There is an attachment on the bucket cylinder that I need help identifying - it looks like the size of a hydraulic motor - the hoses from the tractor go to this attachment, then hoses lead from the attachment to...

    Combine Serial Numbers

Thanks, Tom - that helps. I checked the serial number and found I posted the wrong one - I went by what was written in the owner's manual, but that is not the number on my machine. My combine's number is 8323097 - I guess the manual was a replacement somewhere along the way - obviously I...
