    JD Powershift

I've always been involved with 2-cylinder John Deere's. Am interested in a 3020 with powershift, and I'm green in this area. Is the powershift a "shift on the go" transmission? I understand it has 4 reverse and 8 forward speeds. I currently have a Farmall 706 and it has TA problems. I...

    Allis Chalmers Disk

Back in the mid 50's, I used a neighbor's AC disk. It was a 7 or 8 ft. implement, and he pulled it with a WD. It wasn't a transport type, but was very slick if you got bogged down. You just pulled a rope that released the gangs and they went straight, so you could pull out of trouble. Would...

    JD 3020

What would be a fair price for a gas 3020 row crop, recent engine rebuild? It would be at a farm auction.

    JD 630 vs 4-16...Success...!!!!

Plowed with a 1941 "B" growing up on my folks farm using a Little Genius, 2-14's. Usually was in 2nd gear, once in a while in 3rd. Plowing oats stubble in July, totally in 1st. Never hurt the "B". It was still going strong when they sold the farm.

    JD transmissions

OK, what are the good and bad things about syncro range and power shift? Which is better?

    JD transmissions

I'm a long time JD guy, albeit the 2 cylinder type. Lately, Ive been thinking about getting a later model, too. I see terms such as "Power Shift", "Quad Range", "Side Console", etc relating to transmission types. What types are available on the non 2 cylinder types? Which are the best, what...

What is the horsepower of this Oliver? Are there any inherent problems with the 1800?

    John Deere 2520

Don't often see anything on 2520's. Weren't there many made, or do people hang on to them? See quite a few 2510's.

    WD years built

What years were the WD's built? Also, do the square frame plows work better than the round frame type? I had a WD with the round frame type, and you couldn't keep them where you wanted them. They were either too deep or up on top.

crank it wrong, break your arm

We had a New Holland #80 Wire-tie baler with a 30 HP Wisconsin V-4, and it was crank start only. Still have a scar on my right middle finger where the pickup took off the hide when the motor kicked back. You had to pull the crank toward you as the engine was at chest height.

    F450 weight

Thanks guys! Been looking for a good 400 or 450. Found a nice 450, has PS,TA, and a 281 gas engine, but no FH or 3 point. How difficult is it to find a FH that will fit, and will it bolt right up?

    F450 weight

How much does a Farmall 450 gas with straight drawbar weigh? What original engine should it have?

Anyone know what the approximate cost of a gas F706 with PS, 3PH, dual PTO was when it was new in 1964?
